About this listen

Though grateful for the blessing of her daughter, Carissa Lowe has accepted that widowhood is her lot in life. Bound by fear and mistrust, she feels incapable of opening her heart again.

Tyler Atherton has never forgotten Carissa. When he discovers she’s living with her sister on a nearby ranch, his life becomes intertwined with the lovely widow’s. And Carissa’s daughter, Gloria, seems determined to wrap herself around his little finger. But while Tyler longs to provide a home and future for Carissa, he is haunted by an obligation he feels unable to fulfill.

Challenged by mounting hardships, can Carissa and Tyler preserve their fledgling love in a land as unforgiving and vibrant as the people who call it home?

A beautiful Christian Romance set with both difficult circumstances and greater faith in God to see them through their lives! I am delighted with the narration and all the voices of this large cast! I’m awfully sad to have finished this incredible series!!

Such a phenomenal book!!

I enjoy this author so very much. This group of stories is a delight to listen too. I'm so glad they were in audible form...I didn't have to lay a book down to do things...I just continued to listen as I accomplished other projects!

Would you listen to Taming the Wind again? Why?

Yes - I like it

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen in my vehicle and on my breaks at work so listening all in one setting is not an option me. My down fall for listen at work is sometimes I don't want to stop a story, because I just can't wait to see what is going to happen

Any additional comments?

I like Christian stories, I actually look for Christian authors - wish there were more out there. Actually it doesn't always have a Christian spin on it but I don't like stories with cussing in it. We hear it so much in our society that we don't even think about it anymore. No one cares

Any additional comments?

I am a non-believer and really can not relate to strong Christian preachings. I wish that this book had been listed as a Christian romance. The story line was ok, there was very little indication that this was a Christian lit early in the book, but it gets really thick towards the late middle to end of the book. Which is disappointing because I had so much time invested in the story. Praying and scripture turned me off, but if this is your thing, then it would be enjoyable. I did try to ignore the Christian overtones in order to finish the book, but I will be getting a refund.

Christian love story

What disappointed you about Taming the Wind?

This book is like reading a prologue for the first 50% of the book. The beginning is nothing but a primer on how to be a rancher's wife; cooking, cleaning etc. It could have been a much shorter book.

Has Taming the Wind turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. There are many fine books of this genre. Tracie Peterson is an excellent writer and I could recommend many of her books.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

There was a little more of the "God talk" than Peterson usually has in her Christian books, so that was a little overdone.
