Slow

Took awhile to get going and I kept looking my interest. Not a fan. Hardly can finish.

Love it!!!

Every story is unique. They are all verry interesting. Both the story and narrator were easy to understand. The stories are put together great. It's not too short or too long. I would not change a thing. If you like mythology this is the book for you.

Recommended Reading

I think it is very important for students to know mythology to understand western literature. This has great narration and great cast to make the stories understandable.

Incomplete!

I needed to read this for a literature/writing class I'm teaching for 8th and 9th graders. I bought this audio book for my daughter with ADHD and slow processing speed disorder to listen to because it helps her process as she reads. I ended up listening too because I'm not particularly fond of Hawthorns writing style and just reading it had become tedious. As to the readers' performances: I thought the main narrator had a babyish tone to her voice like she was reading to preschoolers; the others who came into read for the other characters didn't seem to jive with the character thy were portraying, even pronouncing names differently than the main reader. That was very distracting. But the most egregious error was that the reading of the book was incomplete. There are still 10 pages left in the story of Jason and the Golden Fleece!

Delightful retelling by Hawthorne

The retelling of some traditional Greek myths in Victorian style is delightful. The performance is not my first preference (I prefer a single artist) but fair enough.

The last story is incomplete!

What a letdown not to know how the last story works out. It's like falling off a cliff with no bottom.

Incredible Prose.

I Lovez Nathaniel Hawthorne. This is wonderful Classic American Literature. I am also to this day still a huge fan of Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, better known as Nate DOGG. I for one feel that Nate was probably influenced by Hawthorne when he wrote the feel of Classic American Literature in his Rhymes.
