About this listen
A groundbreaking book about how to harness the power of collaboration and work most effectively in groups—coauthored by Getting Things Done’s David Allen
When Getting Things Done was published in 2001, it was a game changer. By revealing the principles of healthy high performance at an individual level, it transformed the experience of work and leisure for millions. Twenty years later, it has become clear that the best way to build on that success is at the team level, and one of the most frequently asked questions by dedicated GTD users is how to get an entire team onboard.
By building on the effectiveness of what GTD does for individuals, Team will offer a better way of working in an organization, while simultaneously nourishing a culture that allows individuals’ skills to flourish. Using case studies from some of the world’s largest and most successful companies, Team shows how leaders have employed the principles of team productivity to improve communication, enable effective execution, and reduce stress on team members. These principles are increasingly important in the post-pandemic workplace, where the very nature of how people work together has changed so dramatically.
Team is the most significant addition to the GTD canon since the original, and in offering a roadmap for building a culture of healthy high performance, will be welcomed by readers working in any sized group or organization.
* This audiobook edition includes a downloadable PDF containing visual graphics from the book, including the Getting Things Done model chart, a sample organization chart, box models, and more.

Critic reviews
"A new classic: David Allen and Edward Lamont nail it in 'Team'! I love this book and wished I had all the wisdom of it 10 or 20 years ago. This book is full of practical examples and guidance on how to more effectively tackle teamwork and get difficult projects accomplished. From purpose and standards, ways to stay accountable, prioritizing and delegating: it is all in there and more!"—Arjan Overwater, CEO Soup-Tech Holding B.V.

Come inside a jury room as one juror leads a starkly divided room to consensus. Join a young CIA officer as he recruits a reluctant foreign agent. And sit with an accomplished surgeon as he tries, and fails, to convince yet another cancer patient to opt for the less risky course of treatment. In Supercommunicators, Charles Duhigg blends deep research and his trademark storytelling skills to show how we can all learn to identify and leverage the hidden layers that lurk beneath every conversation.

Valuable advice and information.

This book is okay and includes a general team application of the specifics in GTD. I found the content a bit long. Ed does the vast majority of the dictation with David throwing in a paragraph here and there. I don't expect I'll come back to this one.
Love GTD, so so on this book

As opposed to "Getting Things Done" which is a step-by-step implementation manual, "Team" is more of a resource that your team can "shop" from, giving great advice and also good examples from the real world.
I strongly recommend this book - and also the "Getting Things Done" book which gives the individuals a great foundation to build upon.

I liked the section on leadership within teams. It discusses the importance of clarity in roles and responsibilities so that everyone knows who does what and the expected outcomes. The section on delegation is also great, and it explains how to use GTD tools like "agenda for" and "waiting for" lists.
The appendix on hybrid and online work is very timely. It discusses the challenges of remote collaboration and how to integrate technology into teamwork.
I highly recommend "Team: Getting Things Done with Others," including the Audible version, where Edward Lamont does an excellent job narrating. This book is a must-read for anyone looking to enhance team productivity and collaboration through the proven GTD framework.
Clarity and focus!
