About this listen

Mercenaries with a mission.

Logan Conner has given up the life of a warrior prince to become Jonathan Slaughter, a mercenary captain of a rough-and-ready band of mech-jocks for hire.

Already legendary throughout the Periphery, their next job brings them head to head with the Jeuta, militant aliens who seek to loot and plunder isolated human colony worlds.

The fearsome Jeuta raiders will task Logan to his limits, but they’re only a sideshow to Wholesale Slaughter’s real operation objective - locating a treasure trove at the legendary Terminus Cut outpost containing enough ancient Imperial technology to give his people a fighting chance.

Don’t miss book 2 in this explosive new military sci-fi series!

Book two picks up where book one left off. Blazing action. Great characters! How have I not heard of Rick Partlow before this series?!

Partlow does it again!

Another great outing for wholesale slaughter. Closing in on their goals they find tragedy and treachery in their way. Battletech has a worthy successor here.

This was an exciting book BUT the battles may have lasted a little to long for me. Still, I like Logan Connor and his crew. He went from being Logan Connor to being Jonathan Slaughter, a mercenary captain, on his way to the Terminus Cut, in search of ancient weapons, that have been there for hundreds of years. They battled the Jeuta and Colonel Aleksandr Kuryakin, both in some serious battles.

No sex and the F-bomb was used 61 times.

As for the narration: Marc Vietor did a fabulous job.

Great second book..

impressive exciting story

There is a lot of Battletech influence obviously, but since BT novels are convoluted anyway this one is refreshingly more direct. If you don't like BT you will not like this book. If you do, you will probably go for it.

This is a great mech series.

Typically, the second story in a series puts the protagonists through the ringer. The author does certainly does that in this book. Although I would have expected this story to be book 3 or maybe 4. Excellent performance by the narrator also. Recommend book 1 before listening to this one.

Wholesale Slaughter in trouble from the start

Very impressed with the story. Author is a good story teller and good descriptions. There is potential to take it to another level. It would make the books longer as well which I would like. Actor does a great job.

good story could be great

This book is a seamless continuation of Wholesale Slaughter the first book of the series, with even more action. Like book 1, I wanted to listen from start to finish. My favorite line "The go to hell shot", had to rewind and hear it again. now I can't wait for the next book..

Another one

Just as good as the first and a huge encouragement to continue the series. Rick Partlow is one to watch, I think.

Book Two is just as good!

Good. Full of action and great dialogue. The story flows smoothly, well performed by Mac Vietor. Rick Partlow is certainly a talented writer and I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
