About this listen

Declan

I'm destined to become the next CEO of my family's media empire. The only problem? My grandfather's inheritance clause. Fulfilling his dying wish of getting married and having an heir seemed impossible until my assistant volunteers for the job.

Our marriage was supposed to be the perfect solution to my biggest problem. But the more we act in love for the public, the more unsure I feel about our contract. Caring about Iris was never part of the deal. Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.

Iris

My plan to marry Declan was simple in theory. Move in together. Throw a wedding. Have a baby. We set rules to prevent any kind of issues. Ones that were never meant to be broken, no matter how much Declan tempts me. But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one?

Falling in love was never an option. At least not for me.

Contains mature themes.

Nice story but that female performance…

I never do reviews but it must be said that female voice was horrible… it didn’t go with the character y every time she would swallow (the whoooole book) gave me the ick… the man was great and the story although I preferred the first book was good.

Narrator ruined it for me

I returned the book and purchased a physical book. I couldn’t stand the female narrator.

Kind of disappointed

I loved the first book in this series, however the storyline of this one let me down. Had to push to get through it because it was very predictable. There weren’t any twists or turns to keep me intrigued. Not a lot of chemistry between the characters either which was a bummer.

Cute story

I agree with other review, the narrator not suit with the story. The story is very cute but the narrator voice it seems for older roles.

Love love loveeee

The way they talk to each other and how the story line progressed was amazing! You can really feel the emotions between them and the emotions between Declan and his brothers.

Great story HORRIBLE female narrator

MYYY GOOOODDDD the female narrator was NOT it. she sounded like an old grandmother telling the story completely ruining the vibe. the male narrator was the one who made me push thru this book. but she completely made it so hard for me to concentrate on the story which was a shame bcs its very good.

Everything I hear this female narrator, I want to scratch my eyes out.

Female narrator is the worst. She is way too melodramatic and exaggerates everything. I can't even finish even though I loved the first book.

Horrendous female performance

I liked the story and relationship but because the female narrator was so bad I couldn’t take her chapters seriously. The book took place in modern day Chicago but anytime she was voicing a male character she sounded like what I imagine a journalist from the 1930s sounded like

Loved the story!

Absolutely loved the story! The female voice not so much, I skipped those chapters in audible, and read them instead.

Great story- not enough Jason Clark

I’ve read this book and now listened to it. I forgot how the book was so heavy from Iris’ POV. This book would’ve been better if it was done in duet format. Something about Clark as Declan that perfectly embodies his character that is better than a female reading a male character. (A for effort it just isn’t the same) Love the story.
