About this listen

Declan

I'm destined to become the next CEO of my family's media empire. The only problem? My grandfather's inheritance clause. Fulfilling his dying wish of getting married and having an heir seemed impossible until my assistant volunteers for the job.

Our marriage was supposed to be the perfect solution to my biggest problem. But the more we act in love for the public, the more unsure I feel about our contract. Caring about Iris was never part of the deal. Especially not when breaking her heart is inevitable.

Iris

My plan to marry Declan was simple in theory. Move in together. Throw a wedding. Have a baby. We set rules to prevent any kind of issues. Ones that were never meant to be broken, no matter how much Declan tempts me. But what happens when our fake relationship bleeds into our real one?

Falling in love was never an option. At least not for me.

Contains mature themes.

Absolutely loved the story! The female voice not so much, I skipped those chapters in audible, and read them instead.

Loved the story!

I’ve read this book and now listened to it. I forgot how the book was so heavy from Iris’ POV. This book would’ve been better if it was done in duet format. Something about Clark as Declan that perfectly embodies his character that is better than a female reading a male character. (A for effort it just isn’t the same) Love the story.

Great story- not enough Jason Clark

I enjoyed it: humor, spice and teary moments worked well for me in book 2 of this series.

I don't understand the harsh feedback about the female narrator. Her voice fit the character perfectly. I loved the story; I could actually see it playing out in my mind.

loved it

Love the readers and how alive they made the story feel. They really brought everything to life.

I liked the first book better. It wasn’t my favorite of love over comes all

It was ok

The story was what I expected. The male narrarator was pretty good but the female....I'm not a fan of. I've never cared for her narrations, she over exaggerates, you can hear her swallow, lick her lips, loudly inhale & exhale, and her male voices are not good.

Good and not so good.

I thought this was cute at first but it just didn’t make sense and was cringe in a lot of ways. I don’t mean the story had plot holes. I mean the way they responded to certain situations was too unrealistic. If they were a real couple instead of a book couple, they would surely divorce. Declan hurts Iris at one point then manipulated her into, making himself the victim. It’s not a big thing in the book and I won’t spoil it but it was a huge red flag to me. Not to mention some of the banter just seemed… corny? But not in a cute or funny way. It could’ve just been the delivery from the voice actors.
Speaking of, Declan’s VA was great. He did a good job and I have no complaints. Iris’ VA wasn’t too great. I wasn’t sure if I liked her voice initially. She would put too much emphasis pronouncing certain words.
I don’t even know where to start with the cringe. Iris making a big deal about the dyslexia was pretty cringe. I come from the same situation as Iris and have dyslexia as well. It’s pretty bad and I almost didn’t graduate because of it. I was bullied for it and felt stupid. I hated people knowing about it and would avoid conversation about it. But I would never get teary eyed over a man doing something nice about it. Declan is a harda**. Just because he does a few thoughtful meaningful things doesn’t make up for the excessive workload mentally and emotionally.
Overall, this was kind of disappointing compared to book 1.

The first book was way better
