Publisher's summary

The first book in number one New York Times best-selling author Sandra Brown’s beloved Texas! trilogy introduces listeners to a close-knit family struggling to go on without its patriarch - and to a man in pursuit of an elusive woman who may hold his future in her hands.

Charismatic and easy on the eyes, Lucky Tyler is a born rebel. His romantic conquests have earned him his nickname, while his temper gives him his reputation as the family hothead. One night, he gets in a fight over a woman in distress, followed by a night of passion neither of them will soon forget. But the lady in question has a knack for disappearing. When news breaks of a suspicious fire at Tyler Drilling, Lucky is the prime suspect. Now the mystery woman is more than just the object of his obsession. She’s his alibi.

Devon Haines has tried her best to escape Lucky. Yet his bold pursuit and self-assurance are irresistible. In order to clear him of criminal charges, she must reveal her darkest secret; withholding her help could cost him everything he holds dear. Either way, she risks losing him forever.

Being from the south, southern accent was tough to listen to

Good story but I found the fake accent distracting. Lucky sounded tough and sometimes lame just bc of the accent.

Love Sandra Brown

After finishing the 2 book series about Dodge, I was reluctant to start another Sandra Brown book. I am thrilled that I did, though. It took a chapter or so to get hooked on the story and the characters, but hooked I got! She never fails to combine mystery, romance, sex, happinesss and sorrow in a way that makes it impossible to shut Audible down. My travels lately have been a blur as I lose myself to the stories.

STEAMY HOT IN TEXAS

Another Sandra Brown very entertaining story. The sex sizzles and the characters are hot. Plot was a bit stretched, but who cares.

bad accent

Unfortunately, the narrator totally wrecked the East Texas accent. The southern drawl wss over the top and awful. Despite that, the story is great.

Men’s feelings from female perspective

Text Solecki was an enjoyable lesson. The reader did a good job of expressing some of the emotions. While the book was a bit predictable he did offer a few surprising bumps. Most noticeable was the fact that the men’s feelings, comments and reactions were obviously written by a woman and white women project talk to me and is the way they feel about certain things. The same can be said when a male author writes about how females are feeling and reacting. I like the fact that the book was a eight hour lesson as it fit very well in my four hour one way trip last week.

I enjoyed this story and performance.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, It was an interesting story not too hard to follow while driving. And the performance was great, easy to understand. Very good diction.

What other book might you compare Texas! Lucky to and why?

The other Sandra Brown Books in this series.

What about Coleen Marlo’s performance did you like?

I thought she did a great job!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I was making a three hour drive each direction for a doctor's appointment out of town. Made the trip go by quickly. So I guess I listened to it in 2 sittings!

Any additional comments?

Loved it in print. Love it in audio.

Loved this when it was first printed. Doesn't lose a bit in audiobook format. Great plot and wonderful characters that enrich a heartwarming trilogy.

Meh.

It was ok for background noise. The narrator was really annoying which made it difficult to listen to. The male lead sounded like Barney Fife and the female lead had absolutely no emotion.
