Love the McCabe/Cody series!

The 1895 Murder is the 3rd book in Dan Andriacco McCabe/Cody series. The characters are likable and believable and I enjoy setting in an Ohio college and its surroundings (and they even travel into KY) to talk to suspects and get info. Sherlock Holmes permeates the story (McCabe’s play takes center stage - he’s Mycroft) and Jeff Cody repeatedly says he McCabe’s “Watson”. I enjoyed all the wedding prep stuff too. The narration by Tom Lennon brought the story to life and added to my enjoyment. There are still more books in the series so I’m happy.

Good story, irritating narration

I found the narration so grating that it took me more than half way through the novel to realize how good the storyline actually was. I would’ve given overall five stars except for the narration which was nasal and whiny.

Never would have guessed it

Wow!!! What a great story. The author neatly diverted this listener from the villains. They were the least likely and least suspect (imo) villains. What an awesome journey. Kudos. I especially like the wrap up details and closure. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Oh, but I love this series SO much!

I’m still enjoying this series very, very much! I simply adore these two! In this book, we get to know about Jeff’s fiancé's parents (and they are fascinating!), we are witness to some pre-wedding drama (not between the bride and groom, thankfully), and to see Sebastian acting as Mycroft Holmes in a theatrical play based on “The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans” written by (of course!) Sebastian McCabe. If this wasn’t enough, there is, of course, murder *laughs*
There is something truly addictive in these stories, I can never have enough. Fortunately, I still have some books to go through :D

Enjoyable!

The narration of The 1895 Murder is spot on. The story flows with well developed characters. I’ll be listening to more McCabe and Cody mysteries by Dan Andriacco.

Cute

Seems like a cozy mystery with a guy for the main character. Characters fairly nice, stereotypes. Light hearted. Solution not obvious. Plot was to develop characters and witty dialog.
