About this listen

The war for the galaxy is at hand.

As the Greshian Empire broadens its reach, pockets of rebel forces form to combat their tyrannical rule. Death before dishonor becomes the last gasp of dying civilizations.

When two sides of the war converge, surviving becomes common ground for unlikely allies. As the tides turn and they become refugees on the run, the ragtag crew of the Replicade must lean on each other - no simple task after years of war and hate.

Love, betrayal, and a healthy dose of combat: the first three books in the Alorian Wars saga are sure to keep you up at night as our antiheroes fight a battle that will bring them to the brink of death - and beyond.

An enjoyable, unique 4 1/2 star read

The Alorian Wars: Volume 1: Books 1-3:

Broken Worlds: The Alorian Wars Space Opera Series: Book 1, my sixteenth read/listen from author Drew Avera. Enjoyable space opera science fiction.

Deadly Refuge: The Alorian Wars, Book 2.

Mutiny Rising (Alorian Wars, #3). I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. The book was well-written & flowed smoothly & quickly. The action has cranked up over the first 3+ books and I anticipate it increasing more. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series, in fact, Shadow Empire: The Alorian Wars, Book 4 will be high on my TBR list just as soon as I get it. The book was well-narrated, by Rebecca Sternberg. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Story deteriorates in later books

This is a combination of the first three books in this series. I had already listened to and reviewed the first of the three books (Broken Worlds). That book dealt primarily with the story of two soldiers from opposite sides of the war that had gotten thrown together and their fight to avoid death from the aggressor army.
The second book in this volume deals primarily with the back story of two others that had a ship that rescued the two main characters from book 1 and som minor part of the story of minor character that was briefly introduced in the first book. The story was not as good as the first book but was still reasonably interesting. (I would give this book 3 stars if I was rating it by itself).
The third book has one side story the goes into more detail about the aforementioned minor character from book one. The main story focuses on the main characters' interaction with a new child character with supernatural mental abilities. It really did not seem to fit in with the general story line from the first two book. (I would give this story 2 or 2.5 stars).
Combining all three stories in the volume I come up with a 3 star rating on the volume.

I am not inclined to continue with the future books in this saga.

Good potential

This was a pretty good listen. I would say this was an early book from this author. Thee is a lot of potential here and if the author wrote this book today I bet it would be 5 stars all the way. The narration could have been better as well. You might think that all this is negative feedback but it's not. Like I said, there is a lot of potential here, and for a first series or just and early series in this author's career, it's pretty good overall.

An epic tale of intergalactic conflict!

Drew Avera's writing in "The Alorian Wars: Volume 1: Books 1-3" is as explosive as a supernova, weaving an epic tale of intergalactic conflict that will leave you breathless. Rebecca Sternberg's narration adds depth and emotion to the characters, making their journey even more compelling. Dive into this gripping space opera, where alliances are forged in the fires of war, and survival is the only currency.

Space soap opera

I received a free copy for an honest review. If you are offended by profanity or LGBTQ+ then this is not for you. This story is a mix of Starship Troopers, Star Wars, and Firefly. It is a perfect example of a space soap opera. In it you'll find intergalactic war, space pirates, super-powered bioweapon, and romance.

Alorian Wars 1-3

This book has it all action, suspense, conflict, awesome character, a story that leaves you wanting more, and even a bit of romance. This is the kind of book that that you just don't want to put down, or in my case stop listening too. Rebecca Sternberg is a perfect narrator for this book.

Our four ragtag friends, must fly through space in their poor wore out ship and try and save the galaxy from the Greshian Empire who will either take or destroy everything.

This really is a great series and a wonderful audio to give a try.

Fun story

A good sifi story, with strong characters and unique scenarios. The universe created is well made and has a lot of room to build on! I hope to see more in it. My only critique is that some of the science/universe "rules" get a little muddy at points. But I tend to be a purist on such things.

A fiery adventure

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Narrated beautifully by Rebecca Sternberg, for Ensign Brendle Quinn and Sergeant Anki Paro all they're known is the relentless war waged by the Greshian and Alorian governments- hoping it some point one earning a clear and prominent victory. Serving within their military wings once a source of pride for both of them, begins to seed in each person that this ruthless conquest these grand empires have embarked upon us poisoning the future of any hope of peace and alliance. Beautifully poignant and harrowing intense, the Alorian Wars is a moral gray adventure that will keep you coming back to revisit and the desire to read more.

Highly recommended.

Great story but...

Let me say that I liked the narrator and how she delivered the story. Most especially when she is a "robotic" character.
I also liked the potential of the story.
Though comparing to my first Drew Avera's story, I loved Damaged, Incorporated more.

Decided to DNF this one because of the profanities (this is not the author's fault. I forgot that he had warned me of his first books and he also recommended that I read the newer ones).
Not sure if he will re-write this one but if he will and will remove those words, I will still give this one a chance.

Not sure if there is some spicy stuffs in this since I did not finish it.

Got a copy from Story Origin. Expressed opinions are my own and not required to leave a positive review. Still thankful for the opportunity.
