About this listen

The Galactics quarantined Earth. But the last Guard agent died. Logan found his stealth ship, and now it's his job to enforce Galactic law against alien predators.

Lord Beran the Antaran regards humans as little better than insects to stomp if they get in his way. He's searching for the lost Polarions, last seen on this backward planet thousands of years ago.

There are alien relics hidden under the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica. Lord Beran wants those, even if uncovering them will unleash a stellar holocaust.

Unless Logan can stop the Antaran, whose superscience seems like magic to us mere humans, the universe is about to find out why the Galactic Guard first quarantined Earth.

The Antaran is the third book in the Invaders Series, a novel of science fiction adventure by best-selling author Vaughn Heppner.

The series starts with book 1, Invaders.

Overall series is good. However, main character Logan tends to be a little whiny and immature in his actions not listening to things that he should but otherwise a pretty good story.

Worth the money main character a little immature

The story is great - lots of action, unexpected events and situations. The narrator - has a great secondary voice, but his default/main voice sounds to me pretty annoying. By now I got used to it (so far I've listen him in 3 books).

The end of the book is odd. Very unexpected...

Rich story, annoying narrator, odd end

the story is good and enjoyable but I have no idea why the author decided on this book to talk about "don't tread on me" flag and how Mexicans and middle easterners are crowding the ER's . the first two books are awesome but this one, the author decided to share his racist and close minded views. thank you for messing up such a good story.

good si-fi story but....

Non stop slam bang action and well written, including some great plot twists, loved this book.

Excellent, cannot wait for more!

This is another listen that went by too fast. This is an almost non-stop action book. There's also lots of humor that goes along with the action. I love the characters. Can't wait until the next book comes out. #Sci-Fi #Action #Humor #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes

Fun book. Fun series.

I am a Heppner fan and have read all his books. I have to say this is the worst. The story drags along in infinite complexity spattered with feats of science that are not well explained. The villains change and the development of each is either uneccesarily long or ridiculously short. After listening for hours to a story that seemingly goes nowhere, an amazing amount of ground is covered (poorly) in the last ten minutes. It is as if the author got tired of the story and decided to race along and make great leaps so as to close it all out. Not well thought out, nor presented well. Rummel is a great performer, but Heppner really blew it on this one.

Awful

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I like the author and the narrator, but the characters are just so "dumb". It's like it was written by a new author. The characters do and say the stupidest things....

Has The Antaran turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

What about Christian Rummel’s performance did you like?

He reads great. He can't control the material....

Do you think The Antaran needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

they should have ended it with them all blowing up..

Any additional comments?

I just can't do another book in this series.

Just not very good

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Absolutely nothing can save this. I'm not even sure if the author intended a parody of an alien invasion novel or not.

What about Christian Rummel’s performance did you like?

One of my favorite narrators, I loved his performance in the Lost Fleet series.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Self disgust that I insulted my credit card.

Unbelieveably bad and illogical
