About this listen

Now that he's of age, Will leaves the temple on his own and sets out into the world as a warrior, priest, and sorcerer of Gracefeel. Incredible things, both good and bad, inevitably lie ahead . . . but the immediate future is uncertain. Two centuries have elapsed since the battle against the High King of the Eternals. Are there any humans left in the land beyond, or is Will truly alone now? Even if he finds other people, will he find allies in them? Or is the darkness of the outside world deeper than he ever dreamed?

This One is Hard to Rate

It's funny, I had watched the anime before reading this and I remembered the happenings of the first book pretty well but really couldn't recall anything after that. after listening to this one, I think I understand why. It's really kind of... bland. I hate saying that, but somehow the story just doesn't grip me at all. That explains why I pretty much ejected the second season of the anime out of my head. Normally I'd rate such a book as three stars, but feel like it is probably more just an incompatibility with me than any real fault of the book in this case. Most people will probably enjoy it just fine.

Not the best written or narrated, but fun

This is an enjoyable and fun read. Good for a casual entertainment. The writing could be technically a lot better in places though. Especially all the shocked "whaaat!?" reactions. For any aspiring writers, try to avoid the word "suddenly" too much. The reader it's my favorite, but you get used to him. The setting though is great and the story develops naturally. I have a few more nitpicks and things I'd suggest changing if I were the book's editor, but overall it's good. I just get annoyed when the potential of a great book is just left as good.
