About this listen

This boxset includes Books 4 through 6 in the Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mysteries.

Book 4, Big Ghosts Don't Cry: Fresh off my Voodoo-tastic vacation to New Orleans, I find myself presented with the first test of my newly discovered magic. There's been a murder in the neighboring town of Pine Shoals and the victim has decided she's not cut out for the spectral life and needs a gentle push into the Otherworld.

It's up to me to solve her murder before the poor ghost goes insane-or, becomes demon food. Whichever happens first.

Book 5, Diamonds Are a Ghost's Best Friend: I've got a ring on my finger and a date circled on the calendar, let the wedding planning begin!

As luck would have it, the little wooded chapel I've got my heart set on is plagued by the not-so-nice spirit of a former bride. She claims the chapel is cursed and points to her own murder as a sure sign, but I'm not convinced.

I'll have to keep my new reaper powers in check and solve this case the old-fashioned way if Lucas and I have any shot at starting our happily ever after underneath the majestic pines.

Book 6, Ghosts Just Wanna Have Fun: Nothing puts a damper on a romantic Hawaiian honeymoon quite like a dead body.

The author is great at developing a story with a surprise that’s not anxiety inducing. The performance is also pleasant and fun.

A great box set

Big Ghosts Don’t Cry: Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mystery Series, Book 4:
Learning to be a Ghost shepherd
In the last book we learned Scarlet has a new ability of helping souls crossover. Here she learns how to use it. It's a good story as we see Scarlet go through her lessons while helping so many people.

Diamonds Are A Ghosts Best Friend: Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mystery Series, Book 5:
Bridezilla in waiting
Planning a wedding is difficult enough, but when you find a ghost bridezilla it gets a lot worse. Plus a ghost busting flower pots and a cat with tuna. Solving the murder is the only way to get the bridezilla to go and get the wedding moving forward. There is a lot more and lots of crossover from the The Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries series. It was great to read it.

Ghosts Just Wanna Have Fun: Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mystery Series, Book 6:
Honeymoon and ghosts
We follow the happy couple as they try to enjoy their peaceful honeymoon until a murder happens right next door. It brings up the question: what happens when ghosts show up afterwards? Roll with it as it’s all you can do. Add in paparazzi and a half dozen women trying to get TV/movies deals making it very interesting.

Fun stories and hoping for a little more independence from Scarlet

Voice acted very well, as per usual!

Re: storyline - I’m beginning to get a real Darren & Samantha Stevens vibe between Lucas & Scarlet. This whole “I promise not to use my magical abilities in front of you”, vibe…
Scarlet hiding such an important part of herself, plus being so willing to give up her entire life after having been wildly independent (until now); it just doesn’t feel very good.

TBH I can’t see her going through with all of the changes in her life, as modern stories tend to lean away from the woman completely losing her identity in longterm, committed relationships.

I guess we shall see how it goes…

Great Cozy Series

I enjoy series that are easy to listen to while working and this didn’t disappoint. The narration is great, the characters are fun and the stories move along at a nice pace. I’ll continue to check and see if new books are released in the series.
