About this listen

Humor and heat collide in this sizzling audio-first romance by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Anne Marsh!

Being a firefighter means I work hard and can go all night. But hey, I've got plenty of fires to put out in my downtime, too. Fortunately I've got just the tool to do it. Size matters, ladies. I've got a big one...and I would have been happy to show you before a sassy, sexy brunette crash-landed in my life.

Lola is quirky; she's talented; she's unbelievably gorgeous; and she's getting over the world's worst breakup. I've got two words for you: off limits.

So even if her smoking-hot body drives me nuts, I'll keep my tool to myself. We're friends - not lovers. I've got her back, even if what I really want to have is her front. Her mouth. Every delicious, curvy inch of her.

And then one hot, dirty night in the bed of my truck, she makes it clear that she's on fire for me. After stoking the flames and achieving a blowup of nuclear proportions, I know I'm in big trouble. Once isn't enough. Now my need for her is a four-alarm blaze...and I'm beginning to think I don't ever want it to burn out.

Just okay

It was an okay story. I’ve listened to many audiobooks at this point and this was one was just... plain. I think I missed parts of it as it played in my headphones my mind would wander. Just didn’t hold my attention.

Hot fireman, sweet romance

A cute romance. An actress starts a club to help the dumped. A firefighter hopes to help heal his broken heart. Excellent performance by the readers, good characters.

Dramatic

Lola has had a series of bad break ups and forms, the break up club. A place for women to support women with bad breakups. Total membership: 3. Plus Hunter.
Hunter gives in to an impulse to join the break up club, and he doesnt give in to impulses often. He blames it on being exhausted when he met them. But as hes dragged into participating, he is glad he gets to hang out with these quirky members...especially Lola.

Their story was good. There were a few places that the story felt almost pushed a little too much, but even then you can ahrug it off and say, "yeah, thats Lola". over all, Firefighters aren't my thing, but the romance was sizzling, the characters likable, and I enjoyed my time with this story.

The BIG one

The book was pretty good and I enjoyed the narration. Jacob Morgan’s voice is so sexy. Rose Dioro’s voice makes me think of Amy Adams so that’s who I see whenever she narrates.

So funny!

Omg. I haven't even finished it yet and dying to review! It is so funny! I cannot wait to read the whole series and probably everything by this author. I loved every character and just laughed out loud getting to know them throughout the book. Don't skip this one, it's great!

P.S. Just finished and the last 10 minutes or so was the best - such a great audiobook!

Happiness in a book

This is a fun, funny, frothy, utterly lovely romantic comedy. It is actually funny with just the right touch of pathos to pull the listener in. The male narrator does a wonderful job of voicing a character who is taciturn and controlled, all the while hoping for more than just a friend. The female narrator gently controls and refines a character that could all too easily have been read as an over the top loudmouth. The character voices complement one another beautifully,

I don't read much contemporary romance, but this was a charming story that I read in one sitting. It appears to be the first in a series of stories about a group of firefighters in the Northern California wilderness near Big Bear Lake, and I'm looking forward to the future offerings in this series. I'm not familiar with this author, either, so I'll be checking out the rest of her catalog as soon as I'm finished writing this review.

If you're looking for a fun CR, with excellent narration and an H&h you can fall in love with...here you go!

Lola & Hunter

A quirky, entertaining, and fun journey to go on with Lola and Hunter. Listening to Jacob Morgan’s deep, sultry voice is always amazing. This is the first time hearing Rose Dioro, she was good. I enjoyed this book.

Wow..just wow..

I just want to start by sayin something positive first about the narrators; they nailed it. Their performance was great, not at all bad. Now the negative; Lola is so effin’ annoy! Jesus! I’ve never listened or read a story where the female lead was so annoying I wished they existed so that I can b*tch slap them for being so annoying! All up in the male lead’s business! No one and I mean no one wants an annoying, needy ass partner! Male or female! Lola gives females who have been there and done that a very bad name. It was like listening to a whinny 16 yr old! Ugh! Sorry, I’ve never gave such a bad review before. The Story was nice, the narrators where great but shoot, I disliked that the author made the female lead so annoying! Save your credit.

Loved it!

What did you love best about The Big One?

I loved the characters Anne Marsh creates. They are vivid and individual. The read is fun and fast, not to mention feisty and fresh. She was able to deliver an Alpha male that was not an AlphaHole. The love story built and grew as the characters became more and more self-aware of themselves and their true personal needs and desires. I loved it!

What about Rose Dioro and Jacob Morgan ’s performance did you like?

The narrators were able to capture the characters voices and make them come to life.
