About this listen

When they first met Lord Jeremy William Radcliffe, Charlie and her twin sister, Elizabeth, were escaping from their uncle - taking turns acting the young gentleman to avoid detection. But Charlie couldn't help falling head over heels-and out of a window - for the handsome lord. Of course, that was only the beginning; Lord Radcliffe insisted on showing "him" and her lovely sister to London.

But how could he do that? With every touch, Radcliffe seemed unknowingly to incite indecent desires in Charlie, and his fraternal intent was certain to land her in a fine mess. Though it was a great game to play a boy, there was more fun in being female. And after one brush of his fiery lips when her guise was gone, Charlie swore to be nothing but his fiery woman forevermore.

Loved it!

Truly laugh out loud funny. I got so swept up in Charlie and her antics. The narrator was a great complement to the story. I really enjoyed listening to this at work and can't wait to hear more stories by the author.

Very entertaining...

This was one of those audiobooks that I couldn't stop listening to. I found it very entertaining and there were some plot twists that I wasn't expecting. It was actually funny how Jeremy was questioning his sexuality because he was attracted to Charlie and the things that happened because of that. There was a good build up to the romance and although there was only one love scene I did feel the romantic connection between Jeremy and Charlie. This is a fun story that I recommend. The narrator also did a fine job with the accents and adding intensity to the story as well.

Definitely a keeper.

Funny and overall a good story about twin sisters who escape from forced engagements. One of them dressing up as a boy creates ridiculous and yet fun encounters.

Happy that I gave this new(for me) author a chance!

Enjoyable But Not Memorable

Normally I love Lynsay Sand's books. Although I enjoyed "The Switch" it was not in the same league
as much of her other work.

The Switch A Fun Escapade into Romance & Deception

When it comes to historical romance novels, "The Switch" offers readers an enjoyable journey through a world of deception, passion, and humor. The story unfolds against a backdrop of 19th-century England, where the lives of the charming protagonist, Charlie, and the dashing Lord Jeremy William Radcliffe become wonderfully intertwined.

The novel kicks off with a humorous and suspenseful escape, as Charlie and her twin sister, Elizabeth, strive to evade the clutches of their menacing uncle. Their survival depends on a clever ruse: taking turns impersonating a young gentleman to avoid discovery. However, the real adventure begins when Charlie, disguised as a young man, crosses paths with the enigmatic Lord Radcliffe.

The dynamic between Charlie and Lord Radcliffe is electric from the start. Charlie's struggle to maintain her disguise while resisting her growing attraction to the handsome lord keeps readers engaged and entertained. Her inner conflict adds depth to her character, making her both relatable and endearing.

The narrative takes a delightful twist as Lord Radcliffe insists on escorting the twins to London. Here, the story delves into the complexities of desire, identity, and societal norms, all set against a backdrop of rich historical detail. The author skillfully captures the tension between Charlie's longing to be her true self and the societal expectations that confine her.

The novel's strength lies in its witty dialogue and the chemistry between Charlie and Lord Radcliffe. Their banter is both entertaining and heartwarming, and the tension between them keeps the pages turning. The supporting characters also contribute to the story's charm, adding depth to the plot and providing moments of laughter and drama.

While the narrative maintains a light and humorous tone throughout, it explores deeper themes of self-discovery, love, and acceptance. The story's conclusion is both satisfying and heartwarming, giving readers a sense of closure and fulfillment.

In conclusion, "The Switch" is a delightful and engaging historical romance that combines humor, passion, and a hint of deception. With its well-drawn characters, witty dialogue, and a satisfying romance, it offers a delightful escape into a world of love and longing. Fans of historical romance will undoubtedly find this novel an enjoyable read, perfect for losing themselves in a captivating love story set in a bygone era.
