About this listen

The Burgers Brothers' Family Funeral Home is dying, and Donnie Burgers wants out. When Donnie expresses his desire to sell the family business, he expects the passionate resistance he receives from his younger brother, Frank. What he didn't expect from his brother was the dirt-covered, bulky trash bag now hiding on his closet floor.

Convincing Frank to close the home won't be as easy as Donnie imagined. When a stuttering local cop begins asking questions about a recent grave robbery, Donnie realizes his brother's plan to save the family business is more disturbing than just their relationship.

An exciting book read by and even better narrator.

A great book read by a author who can actually make the story experience exciting. So many books read by the authors are flat and hard to listen too. The narrator made this book exciting. The books itself is good. A great story about a family business with all the excitement and drama that goes with it. There are many exciting twists that keep you in it for the duration. I have the book and audiobook. If you are a 90s culture lover then this is a book that will make you happy. There are so many 90s trivia Easter eggs. This brought me back to my childhood.

Loved it

Found this author on TikTok promoting his books and so far I'm hooked! Loved the storyline and the characters personalities. Already wishing this was a movie and picturing the best actors for each character. Would have finished in one sitting if life hadn't gotten in the way.

W.KY wit & charm brought together in a great story

The Burgers Brothers' Family Funeral Home was a fun listen which was only raised higher by the author also narrating. He's a natural! There is a book 2 which I hope will be coming to Audible soon. I'm itching to know what happens next.

This story originally caught my attention because it is situated in Murray KY and the Land Between the Lakes. The references to area landmarks added to the fun and added depth to the story without becoming the story's sole focal point.

The characters each had their own driving forces which led them to the choices they made and propelled the story deeper. Initially those consequences were slow and I wasn't clear on where the plot was going to take us. However, I quickly became engaged with the charms of Donnie and Frank and how their choices could impact them for life (or death as it was with the funeral home).

This was funny, well narrated and edge of my seat riveting as the end approached. Now I need to find out where this dynamic, brotherly duo go next.

Great Read

There a few minor errors in the audiobook book but it doesn’t take away from the story. The author is a natural for reading the book and puts more life and energy into the book than most “professional” readers. The story is fun and at the same time deals with choices we have to make in life (right or wrong). You will LOVE the characters. Really good book! I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this is one that I will have to buy a physical copy of the book, too, to enjoy it all over again along with the sequel.
