About this listen

Seven women. Seven sins. One night of judgment.

Jennifer is forty-two and getting married for the second time, but that doesn't mean she can't go all out for her bachelorette weekend. She's taking her closest friends to the kind of place that has a years-long waiting list for a booking: three days of super-exclusive luxury accommodation on a remote Scottish island. So excited by the complicated means of transport required to get to the island, no one gives much thought to the implications for getting off again, especially if the weather should turn. But why would they? They're in for a time they will never forget. Just not for the reasons they imagine.

When one of the party mysteriously goes missing on the first night, Jennifer realizes she has made a terrible mistake: she has assembled this disparate bunch of women and the only thing they have in common is her . . .

Get ready for a locked room mystery like no other. One that asks: how well do you really know anybody, even your oldest acquaintance? And what if your best friend is really your worst enemy?

The Cliff House was the ultimate thriller, keeping the listener constantly on their toes. The storyteller perfectly complimented the book. If only I could erase my memory and go on the adventure again!

Perfect voice to compliment a great book!

I was really excited to listen to this story because the title details looked great. It took awhile to get into the story. It got pretty good about half way through. I think the narrative had a lot to do with it. I personally didn’t care much for the person narrating the book. In the end it was pretty good which is why I gave it only three stars. I was about to actually stop it and get my credit back but decided to give it a chance.

Meh

Very well written and well narrated. I was surprised to learn there was only one narrator. I never had any problems telling any characters apart. I also liked that the women were given agency and weren’t there as the Victim role only.

Great narrator to a great story

The plot was there, so much could have been done with it…but it never materialized for me.
The characters are a hot mess, sometimes their actions make sense sometimes they don’t, and this was the same for me with the plot.
Sadly, the narration only added to the confusion.

Disappointed

This was a solid, locked in thriller. I really enjoy this genre so I read a lot of books with similar plots. It was a not confusing at times because every person there seemed to have something they were hiding. Unfortunately I didn't really connect with any of the characters which lowered my appeal to the book. I would definitely recommend to anyone who also enjoys this genre.

Solid Thriller

I'm so mad that I wasted a credit - the plot was overcomplicated and boring, the narrator was robotic and made it worse

Don't waste a credit
