About this listen

A small town, second chance romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry.

She took a dare and fell in love. Truth would have been the smarter choice.

After years of living under her father’s thumb, Emmeline is ready to break free. She’s abandoned her life as a New York socialite to follow her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher in a small, wholesome town. Seeing the man that nearly broke her was absolutely not what she had hoped to find in Prescott, Montana.

Nick hasn’t seen his Emmy in nine years, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten a thing about the woman he loves. After just one blissful night as man and wife, he gave her up, sacrificing his own happiness to keep her safe—far away from him. But the moment she walks back into his lonely life is the moment he decides never to let her go again. He won’t waste his second chance. All he has to do is win back Emmeline’s heart, keep her safe from the shadows in his past and prove to her that taking a wager on him is a sure bet.

Boy marries girl - boy leaves girl

Super cute story of two “kids” who get married in Vegas - then fast forward 9 years to their reconnection. Would recommend.

Perfection.

Absolute perfection. I enjoyed this so much more than book one. And I loved the Easter eggs with Nick and Emmy and being tied to Clifton forge series.

Loved everything about this!!!

Audible: Narrators – Ava Erickson and Joe Arden
OMG!!! I absolutely loved these narrators! They brought so much depth and emotion to the characters. It was easy on the ear and smooth while also bringing to life the character’s personalities. I was disappointed when the audio ended and I wanted to rewind and start all over again!

It’s official. I’m a diehard fan of this author and The Clover Chapel solidified the deal.

I absolutely love the way Ms. Perry writes. Her stories never get bogged down and there’s always something new right around the corner for her characters. And talking about characters, she gives them so much life. They each have their awesome qualities as well as their quirks that make them human. They come to life on the page and despite making some a-hole decisions, they’re always redeemable.

Loved meeting Nick and Emmy and revisiting with Jess and Gigi. There were some new friends and family introduced as well and I’m curious to see where this series is going to go.

If you haven’t tried this one yet, I dare you. No, I double dare you.

4.5 stars! Better than book 1 in the series.

I liked this one quite a bit more than the first book in this series. The characters and writing felt more reminiscent of the Lark Cove series which is what drew me in to Devney Perry’s works.

I really liked the premise of this book. Second chance romances aren’t my favorite trope but this one was different than any that I’ve read before.

I enjoyed the main characters in this one more than the first book as well, especially the male main character. Jess from book 1 frustrated me in that book but I liked him a lot as a side character in this one. Nick was much more to my taste for a male main character. So sweet and thoughtful. Some of his lines made me swoon.

Another huge plus for me was the appearance of Logan from the Lark Cove series. Since I read that series first I loved seeing a little more of his back story in this book.

There was still a little more suspense and action than I prefer in my romances but it was totally worth it to enjoy the setting, characters, and story that the author wove together this time. I’m looking forward to jumping in to the next book in the series!

Wonderful second chance romance

This is a great story in the Jameson Valley series. This is a wonderful second chance romance. I’m amazed by this author’s work.
Narration by these two voice actors is always fantastic and this book is no exception.

This story blew me away

This story blew me away. I usually don’t like second chance romance books but the spin on this one sucked me in and I loved it. Nick convincing Emmeline to give him a chance after her unknowingly moving to the town, for her new teaching job, kept me rooting for her to just give him the chance. They went through ups and downs but in the end they both were there for each other and both learned lessons from each other. I absolutely loved this story and how it’ll tie into future books.

"I Dare You!"

Man I am such a fan of Devney's and every book makes that point a little more truer! I loved the premise of Nick and Emmy's relationship. I love how fate kept bring them together. I love the town and the feel it gives off. This book had more suspense and twists that I did not see coming. Great read. Loved all the feels. Excited for the remaining books in the series!
