About this listen

The complete trilogy in a single bundle!

Beyond our world lies the unknown, countless planets with endless possibilities. On a dark world far from our home, an epic war started a chain reaction, sending two alien races on a collision course with Earth. Secret battles wage on our soil, brewing a cataclysmic war that could change the face of humanity forever. If we can't prevent an alien armageddon, we'll find ourselves fighting against forces with technology thousands of years more advanced than ours. The war is on, and time is running out....

Collision
Sienna Wolfe's life changes when a strange craft crashes near her cabin, and she finds herself in the middle of a bitter battle between two warring alien races, the likes of which could wipe out mankind. As she races to align her new allies with the US military, she may soon learn that her new friends may not be as noble as they seem. Can Sienna prevent an interstellar war from claiming Earth, or will she become the harbinger of an alien apocalypse?

Implosion
As Sephian forces peck at the Draeken defenses, we soon learn that things are never as simple as right and wrong. Draeken Commander Roden Zyll has spilled plenty of blood in his time, and he cares little for humans. But when he realizes his leader’s plan could lead to his people’s extinction, he plans a coup. Only one problem: he has to work with the Sephians to succeed. If he fails, every Earth nation will be yanked into a war that no one has a chance of winning.

Explosion
When a deadly virus is released across the planet, all aliens are quickly blamed. When a mass execution is planned, Captain Jax Jerrick becomes a traitor to the military in order to save the Sephians and the Draeken. After bloody battle, he escapes and joins the resistance committed to holding off the world's military forces while searching for an antivirus. With enemies coming at them from everywhere, can the resistance stop the war before humanity becomes extinct?

Enjoyable Sci-Fi Read

This is my first exposure to the writings of Rachel Aukes. I'd have to say that I enjoyed it. I made a request to the author for this series and agreed to review it after completion.
The setting is Earth. Three different races (human and two alien) are introduced, and we are taken through a series of events from each race's perspective. The biggest lesson, to me, is that you can't judge an entire group, but, rather, you have to know individuals to base your judgement.
The narration was good. A small annoyance was that the narrator gave one alien race a French accent and the other a Slavic accent, but it did serve to differentiate who was speaking when all three races were present.

Must read.

This is one of the best stories I've listened to in a while. Not just sifi but a tail of human nature that's not afraid to show the details. "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

The colliding worlds

I have to admit that this is my type of thing. I love anything to do with aliens, and this book does not disappoint.

AWESOME STORY LINE

Really enjoyed this book series. The characters were very authentic and made me care about the good and bad issues they had to deal with. Kind of freaky too as the story almost parallels enents in America and the world as a whole. Evil politicians, military leaders who fail to protect the people, nations at one anothers throats when they should band together against a common enemies, and an engineered pandemic with a cure worse than the disease.

Intriguing

The Colliding World Trilogy features an intriguing premise: waring alien races with Earth as the battlefield and humans caught in the middle of it all. The story is quite interesting, features a solid cast, and a decent amount of action. I do think the series, especially the earlier parts could have benefitted from more fleshing out of the story. We skip/skim over some very important issues, especially early on. When we first learn about the two races, I would have loved a more detailed explanation of the war and the various aliens, but as I mentioned it kind of gets skimmed over. Likewise the romance that starts up seems to come out of nowhere. One minute our heroine is a 'guests' (aka prisoner) and then a few paragraphs later (which covers two or threes worth of time) she is suddenly in love with her capture/watcher (whatever you to call him) The story works, I just would have liked to see the parts that got skipped over. I'm a fan of Rachel Aukes' work, I just wish she had fleshed out the story a bit more. Hollie Jackson does a very good job with the narration. Very well done

I was excited to get started in this series and it didn't let me down. The author gave you insight into all the races in the story and showed that you couldn't judge any one of them by the deeds of a few. The narrator did a good job of bringing the world and the races to life. I was given a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.

Designed by Draeken, made by Sephian!

I was lucky enough to be sent this complete trilogy; The Colliding Worlds, which includes Collision, Implosion, and Explosion. The tale is of first contact; first contact times two. The characters are well-developed and very likable, even the aliens. Let me introduce the main human characters, then the aliens. Sienna, a strong, sensible woman who gets much more than she bargained for when she pulls the pilot from a crashed plane near her cabin in the Ozarks. Lieutenant Jax, the Army Ranger liaison officer between humans, Sephians, and ultimately Draekens as well. Sephians, a supposed peaceful alien race having a heavy French accent. Draekens, a supposed hostile alien race having a Russian accent. It took me a few chapters to get used to the French accent but still required a bit of concentration. The first volume Collision chronicles the arrival of the aliens, focusing primarily on the Sephians and their efforts to ally with the humans. Volume two Implosion focuses on the Draeken and their bid to ally with the humans while refuting the accusations of the Sephians. Volume three Explosion starts with a bang! A virus has been turned loose on the world and the Draeken are suspect. Since signing a peace treaty, Sephian and Draeken colonists have been restricted to a large camp; the U.S. Extraterrestrial Restricted Zone. The speed and severity of the virus have shocked humans to their core and the U.S. is about to retaliate. Who created the virus, why, and what will be the results is the focus of volume three. Excellent story with an awesome climax! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
