Enjoyed these wonderful stories that I grew up with, though many were new to me now.

The brothers grim stories are some of the best, so I figured having them read to me would be so fun. But the guy who read it was TERRIBLE!!!! His voice and inflections started to make my skin crawl!

Love the brothers grim, HATED the reader/performer

Only complaint regarding anthology itself is the lack of a real table of contents. The narrator/performance, on the other hand….holy moly I think a monotone robot could have been less annoying. I don’t know who is employed to pick narrators, but let’s just say he or she should pursue (along with the narrator himself) another line of work.

Stories as great as narrator is bad.

I cannot find a record of which is which. Roughly, Jacob was the story architect, Wilhelm was the editor. Inspired by centuries of handed-down oral stories — and financial need — they began compiling preservationist collections in 1810. Most, regardless of cultural origin, morphed into Germanic folk tales. They tempered the violent and sexual details of some, and where they chose not to prefaced stories with an explanation. Some end awkwardly or abruptly.

Easy to forget the Grimms were collectors AND writers

Not a fan of the reader. Couldn't finish. He uses the same voice for just about every character of the same type(villian innocent so on)

Not a fan

Love the stories but the chapters are only labeled by number. I can’t find the beginnings and ends of stories by only time in the book. Please fix this issue audible.

No names on chapters

I L O V E fairy tales and D E V O U R E D this audiobook. At first the narrator was a little “meh” but when you get further into the book, he’s great 👍🏼. I don’t think he’s American so cut him some slack!!!😤 I mean does Jürgen Fritsche doing like an American name? Good job Jürgen Fritsche!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Good job Brothers!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

You just have to get used to the narrator at first but later, he’s great

So many of the stories ended with someone getting their head chopped off or someone marrying into royalty. Really, some of the stories were quite predictable when the first sentence was read. But, overall, some of them had great morals to the story. Would I listen to this all again? Nope!

Glad to Have It Overwith!
