About this listen

He claimed her, not for love, but for vengeance.
Yet his enemies had other plans.

After Tavish, the ruthless Unseelie King, stole Lira and brought her to his kingdom, he fully intended to drain her royal Seelie blood to free his people and reclaim his rightful lands.

When Lira teetered on the edge of death, something inside him snapped and altered his plans.

Once he succumbed to their fated mate bond, her death was no longer an option, and he stopped fighting the inevitable pull, knowing this very decision could incite his people to rebel against him.

Though he’s determined to find another way to free his people while keeping Lira at his side, the Seelie attack, taking Lira from him.

She’s returned to Seelie land where her parents intend to hand her over to the dragon prince—the man they betrothed her to years ago.

Everything stacks against them being together, but Tavish refuses to accept defeat.

Lira is his… and no one else's. And he’ll kill anyone who gets in his way.

The Court of Thorns and Wings is a slow-burn, royal fae romantasy that includes betrayal, morally gray characters, enemies-to-lovers, villain gets the girl, political intrigue, who did this to you, and touch her and unalive. One-click this story today.

I felt like the verbiage was sometimes juvenile and repetitive. Lyra was starting to get annoying and I just skipped over her parts here and there.

Engaging but easy to guess

Boring story line weak lead characters. It’s the second book but felt like you didn’t even advance in the story. The fated mates bond making everything into something sexual between the characters was cringy

DNF

I like this series because I’m not left being pissed of about love triangle, non-communication, and betrayal tropes. It’s easy to follow, you don’t have to pay much attention and it’s a quick listen. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s fun.

It feels unproblematic

Not a fan of the VCard trope but with these two it works. Love her found family and struggle for finding where she fits between being raised in a human world / belonging in a fae world as a princess. Also can get behind a morally grey mmc.

Still binge worthy

The cliff hangers are no joke and I wish they are not so dramatic. Also thebpot is nonstop action and I felted there was not enough times for the characters to have nice enjoyable scenes to deepen there relationships other than spice. the spice was good and not over the top. the plot was also very exciting and fast paced. So you won't get bored. Over all if was a fun ride. the Narrators are amazing and the narration is in the new style of all male voices are played by the male narrator and all female are played by the Female narrator and this happens even in same the same paragraph like in conversations. Which makes the narration more organic and enjoyable. So I definitely think it is a good listen.

Wow such a fun book to listen to!

I loved the story, but the FMC was so infuriating constantly putting everyone else in danger.

Story itself is a 3, generic romantasy tropes and writing could be better but it was still entertaining and the duet narrating was great. Read this at 1.5x in a day.

I found myself losing interest in this book. I liked the first book fairly well and the narration has been decent enough that I felt like, why not continue with the second book? I don’t necessarily like this male narrator. He does a lot of whisper voice that annoys me and I just don’t enjoy him in general. Not so much that it made the book return worthy to me, just made the listen a little less enjoyable for me. The female narrator was pretty good though. I found both this book and the first book a little on the cheesy side for me. I don’t like corny, so that was a little bit of a strike against in my opinion, but I have friends who love cheesy, so I’m sure there are others who will enjoy it. I also got tired of the same terms being used over and over again, such as “sun scorched,” “ash breath”, “blighted stars”, that sort of thing. It was just a little overkill.

As I stated before, it was just a very average book. A lot of the clichés that are popular today are in it and I’m sure there will be people who eat it up. It falls in line with so many other fairy/fae books that are popular in the romantasy genre these days. I would just prefer to read something more original, so I’m not going to continue this series, but I may try a different series by this author eventually.

Not bad story, just a little average
