The perfect escape....

Gabrielle Adams has it all - brains, beauty, a handsome fiancé, and a dream job in publishing. Until, one day, everything changes.

"The Tube Killer" takes his victims when they least expect it: standing on the edge of a busy London Underground platform, as they wait for a train to arrive through the murky underground tunnels of London.

Gabrielle soon learns that being a survivor is harder than being a victim, and she struggles to return to her old life. Desperate to break free from the endless nightmares, she snatches up an opportunity to run a tiny bookshop in a picturesque cove in rural Cornwall.

She thinks she's found the perfect escape, but has she swapped one nightmare for another?

Suspense and mystery are peppered with romance and humor in this fast-paced thriller, set amidst the spectacular Cornish landscape.

Great twist

I really enjoyed the narrator, the story line & the twist of who was the villain.

Mystery with bit of

…cozy on the side. This book was a good and fast read, very well written and kept me guessing until the reveal. I like the MFC and i enjoyed all the supporting characters, too. Set in a very cozy town in England.

Very enjoyable, quick read

Lovable characters and good mystery, I couldn't wait to see what happened but sad that the story is over. The narrator did a great job as well.

Tolerable Romance

Typically when I find “Romance” in the description for an audiobook I move on to other titles immediately. The Cove slipped past my anti-romance detection process, bringing this clever, cozy, suspenseful and emotionally charged story to my very ears. As I listened, I noticed a romantic inflection here and there but that silliness wasn’t the focus of the story by any stretch. The sex scenes were the mildest of the mild and therefore sufficiently tolerable to permit me to listen to the very end. I found this was a good story, great scene/setting description and a cast of characters who were realistic and people anyone would like to know, if I’m being honest. The performance is outstanding! I am captivated by her voice and very impressed by her range.

Overall I recommend this book and will listen to others by this author until I run across one that exceeds my romance tolerance limit (read LOW).

Thrilled with the Cove. Is there such a place?

I long to live in the Cove. LJ Ross creates a charming and endearing corner of England with charm and heartfelt emotion. Each character is brought to life by a favorite narrator of mine, Clare Corbett. The subplots are so well done, I felt as if I was in the Cove. Characters are endearing and delightful with a sprinkle of humor and mystery thrown in to make for an audictive listen and a jaw-dropping finale I never saw coming. Ross and Corbett are perfectly paired and I’ll be on the lookout for more. They combine their unique talents to bring us this complex offering. I’m thrilled I found this in Audible Plus catalogue. I do wish this book was more than the six-plus hours and hope that I have the chance to visit the Cove again and again… I’m on my way to “The Creek” soon.

Thank goodness it was free…

Predictable, formulaic, superficial, and SPOILER ALERT, a happy ending - if that’s your comfort zone, this is the book for you!!

Not believable

*SPOILERS ALERT*

Too contrived to be believed or compelling. Lost memory and gaslighting memes in the same work.
