About this listen

The second book in New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Shirley Jump's irresistible Sweet and Savory Romances. Maria Pagliano is a woman on a diet mission. Desperate to drop a dress size before her reunion, she joins the Chubby Chums. But waiting next door is sexy, tempting chef and restaurateur Dante Del Rosso. Dante is all wrong for Maria. He tastes and smells like all the foods she has stricken from her diet. But Maria's love for her singing grandfather, cantankerous grandmother, and matchmaking mother all fill a long-empty spot in Dante's heart. He sets out to win her, using every weapon he has, including his tortellini. He's offering her the very thing she's got no willpower to resist - desire on a plate.

Special bonus material: Recipes written by the characters inside! The original version of this book was published in 2005, and titled as The Devil Served Tortellini.

Eating disorder trigger warning, but enjoyed story

This story is very cute, but be aware that if you have any history of eating disorder you may be triggered.
I don’t think the author intended this at all.
Again, I recommend this book, but make sure you are stable in your eating disorder recovery

Good book, well written

The book was good, the performance a little stilted with female voices. I did enjoy the twists of the story, although the diet theme was a bit overdone. An enjoyable read.

Good story

I loved the story the only thing I didn't like was a woman that is more than a size 8 thinks she needs to be smaller but I'm glad they showed it differently.

Enjoyed with some laughs

I really enjoyed this book. As much as the first one in the series. Had some laughter in this one as well.

Very enjoyable!

What a sweet....and yes savoury story.
Quite a few laugh out loud moments.
Best saying - now I know what the end piece of a loaf of bread feels like
Great narration too.

Low Self Esteem

Will this is a true issue - I never felt like Maria dealt with it. As for Damian - he was perfect and she abused his love for her. He desired so much better.

Disappointed

Boring. Hated narrators version of Italian accent. Thought it was continuation of first story.

Another Fat Story

This is just another story about a full figured woman (Maria) who hates her own body until a man (Dante) comes along & convinces her that she is actually attractive. Yuck!

Wake up ladies; if you aren't happy with your weight, do something about it. Happy, healthy women come in different shapes and sizes.

Insecure women with low self esteem are not that interesting or a good candidate for a successful relationship.

I am torn!

I am torn over this book. On the one hand it's clever and funny and engaging. The main characters are likable and funny. However, on the other hand, the support group of "chubby chums" is somewhat offensive. They are treated and act like they are children. The people in the group are over-stereotyped images of overweight people. It just seems like this is the author's way of poking fun at obese people. This support group scenes were cringe worthy. It's hard to listen to at times, while other times I'm really enjoying the story. So, there's the rub.
