Baseball analyst is thrown a curveball when she is whisked back in time....

And one of those curveballs is thrown by a blue-eyed pitcher!

ESPN baseball analyst Amy Spalding is swept back in time by a magical brooch and finds herself in 1909 New York City. With only the clothes on her back, a phenomenal memory for New York Giants players and stats, and a brooch that won't take her back home, she does what she has to do, pawns her jewelry.

When New York Times best-selling author Jack Mallory discovers Amy in the background of the iconic photograph of Ty Cobb kicking up a cloud of dirt as he slides hard into third base, Jack along with Kevin Allen, JL O'Grady, Connor O'Grady, and Pete Parrino launch a rescue mission to return Amy to the present before her boyfriend goes on trial for her murder.

Can the time travelers hold out against stalkers, PTSD, phobias, and failing relationships long enough to find a thief and recover the stolen diamond brooch so they can all go home? And can Jack and Amy find the soul mate of their dreams on a voyage of lost hopes and new beginnings?

This series just keeps getting better!!!

If you could sum up The Diamond Brooch in three words, what would they be?

The Adventures Continue. and get better and better. The MacKlenna family gets stronger.(sometimes via the what doesn't kill you makes you stronger route...). I guess that is more than three words. Sorry!!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot was great, I couldn't stop listening. I drive a ton and the MacKlenna clan has become a favorite companion. I am on the edge of my seat as it feels like my own family and friends are in peril. Sometimes from the adventure and sometimes from their own fine selves : ) The stories and characters are so rich and engaging, I can't get enough. And now on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one.

Which scene was your favorite?

OK, it is a tie. The scene where JL sings on the cruise ship made me cry (not necessarily a good thing when you are listening while driving ?) And the scene in Yankee stadium. Oh, and also the part where the story line took a side trip to Pittsburgh. (my hometown).

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Probably some clever baseball line. Maybe DON'T STOP NOW BOYS (a Hawk Harreleson fave). or another one from hawk HE GONE! (referring to jack's heart) : ) lame, i guess. which is why I read vs. write......

Any additional comments?

Katherine's is an amazing storyteller and the books continue to get better, richer, as the story continues and the family grows. Can't wait for the next one. Teri is one of my favorite narrators and really brings EACH character to life. I actually was in such a hurry for one of the recent releases so read it, but HAD to get the Audible, so I could listen to it again, as it just wasn't right without her reading it to me! Only one minor negative on this one (crying while driving aside) NEED. MORE. DAVID. I'm just sayin' : )

Another GREAT Adventure!

What does Teri Schnaubelt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Teri Schnaubelt brings all of Katherine Lowry Logan's characters to life! She does the most amazing job with all of the accents. I WILL be listening to The Diamond Brooch and all of the rest of the Brooch series OVER and OVER!!

WONDERFUL SERIES! CAPTIVATING!!!

The books in this series are long and I love them more than any other series I've listen to in a very long time. Each book in the series is so different and intriguing all by itself. However, it's a MUST LISTEN from the very first book and in order or else connections are lost in this very large family. There are so many more brooches to discover and I am getting down to the last 2 releases. I sincerely hope that Katherine Lowry Logan is a very speedy writer! ;)

I can't say enough about the wonderful talents of Teri Schnaubelt! She has SO MANY voices to keep up with and does so brilliantly. In future releases, Teri Schnaubelt MUST be the narrator because a change would destroy the story and all future releases.

I highly recommend this entire series even for those not into time travel. The stories are so good and so captivating that it will change your mind and make you a fan.

Great series

The broaches enable time travel and each book has it's own mystery and new time and place. This one includes baseball and New York in;1909.

GREAT story —-Sub par narration

I love audiobooks. As you know, with with an audiobook the narration is all important. Unfortunately with this book narration was sub par. All the females sounded exactly the same. It was very difficult to tell who was speaking at any one time especially when you had all the family together. Terri the narrator used a different voice for the males but again all the males sounded exactly the same so we had the same problem. This distracted greatly from the story which in itself was fantastic. Also for some bizarre reason the producer decided to have the narrator actually sing the songs that were in the story. This took an inordinately long time, was totally unnecessary and interfered with the flow of the book.

I have read and listened to ALL of the Celtic Brooch Series and prior to this book have felt that the audio version enhanced the book and made it better. This is the first time that I felt that Teri missed the mark. Maybe she was sick?
I strongly suggest reading this book as it’s very good and has plenty of thrills and suspense along with a believable romance. But I might skip the audio version.
