About this listen

Follow the Dragonlings as they get into mischief, learn, grow, and find love in this magical sci-fi romantic adventure from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S.E. Smith.

A batch of heart-shaped cookies stirs the imagination of the dragonlings and their friends when Carmen shares a magical tale of love. It will take a very special Valentine, a few mischievous dragonlings, their best friends, some clueless warriors, and two enchanting goddesses to help a lonely woman find the dragon who loves her.

Love is in the air and not even the mighty warriors of the Valdier, Curizan, and Sarafin are immune to the power of celebrating their feelings for the women who have changed their lives. Hearts, glue, and glitter abound when the warriors help the dragonlings on their quest to assist Cupid in this delightful tale of love, hope, and happiness.

Features two bonus stories: "A Dragonlings Day at the Beach" and "The Breakfast Run: A Dragonlings of Valdier Story"

What an incredibly cute and touching story! If you liked The Old Dragon of the Mountain’s Christmas you’ll love this Valentines version. It features the Security Chief that was tormented in Capturing Cara, and the sister of Paul Grove’s friend Chad from Earth.
Phoenix creates a “mirror” or window to Earth that lets the Dragonlings instantly travel without a spaceship, csusing her parents to both appreciate her talents and fear for the day when they will take her away from them.
There are two additional short stories that are cute, but not really eventful in relation to the overall story arc of the series.
Brenin, as always, does a lovely job with narration- kudos.
Recommend if you enjoy this series and author.

Over the course of the series we have learned that the dry links, Rome, and Alice refuse to just sit back and allow the adults take over the stories. The children already want to help and make everything good for everybody. So when Carmen decides to tell a story about Valentine's Day the children feel that it is their duty to help save a Valdier Warrior because everybody should have a whole heart.

This story is Phoenix's coming out party. Phoenix is the one that decides to go to Earth and help the Lonely Woman fix the Valdier Warrior's Heart. She is the one that has the gift to open up a portal and order for her and her friends to go through. She is also the one who realizes how close she was to losing her mother and she is one that actually saves her. If I didn't love Phoenix already this story solidifies it for me. She is just an amazing character and I really cannot wait to see where S.E. Smith takes her.

The guys as well or great addition to the story. They are completely and utterly funny and are just big kids. When we are first introduced to each of the men individually they seemed as though they were lacking a child's enthusiasm. Now that they are mated and have children of their own you can see how much having the other half means to them and how much they would do anything to keep a hold of that sensation. Paul of course is funny. Paul just seems to be everybody's daddy and I'm pretty sure Mora is a lot easier to deal with then these grown men.

I will continue to gobble up and listen to every single story that Susan Smith decides to put out. She is simply amazing and all her books are funny and heartwarming and just makes you want to be happy. Of course David Brenin is amazing as well. I just love the voices that he gives to all his characters. So swoon worthy.

Love the Dragonlings and hope that S. E. Smith will come up with some new adventures for them. David Brenin's narration is great as usual. Really enjoyed the interaction between the dragonlings and how they helped two true mates from different worlds find each other.

More Dragonlings please!

To celebrate Valentine’s Day we chose this fun, short story from the Dragon Lords of Valdier series by SE Smith. The bedtime story of a lonely lady and stone-hearted warrior is too exciting for the dragonlings who decide they need to go to Earth and help the two characters find love. What ensues is a comedy of errors as small dragon shifters and their dragon lord fathers explore Valentine’s Day. This was a cute and fun dip into a much bigger world that SE Smith has created. We were left intrigued and interested to go back and read these books from the beginning. We took the theme of Valentine’s Day and ran with it, spilling our best and worst Valentine’s days along with a bunch of other personal stories.
