She’s a secret sensation.
Miss Lily Hartley is the anonymous mastermind behind the ton’s latest obsession: The Debutante’s Revenge, a tell-all advice column for young ladies. To keep her identity hidden, Lily delivers her columns disguised as a boy - which is well and good, until she lands in the middle of tavern brawl. As luck would have it, a devastatingly handsome duke sweeps in to rescue her.
He has no idea who she is.
Eric Nash, Duke of Stonebridge, discovers there’s a beautiful woman hiding beneath a lad’s cap, and, before long, he’s falling for the delightfully clever stranger recuperating in his house. He vows to help her find her home, even though he’s reluctant to part with her. There’s only one problem....
Neither does she.
Lily has no idea who she is. She could be a duchess or maid. Betrothed or married. There’s only one thing she does know - that her attraction to Nash is more than skin-deep, and it grows stronger every day. While Lily and Nash search to find her true identity, they just might lose their hearts to each other....

So, Lily aka Caroline, is not dressed as a chimney sweep but as a messenger boy. She is not hit by horse and carriage, but hurt in a pub brawl. She does not have incriminating evidence on her, she had just delivered her column. She DOES lose her memory, (for the majority of the book!) and whoever's responsible for the misleading description really did both author and reader/listener a disservice! Perhaps THAT is why the reviews were off.
Once I realized I didnt know anything when I bought the book.... I really enjoyed it. it's a regency era romp that delivers exactly like it should. it's not full of historical significance, it's not politically driven. it's the mostly lighthearted stuff it's meant to be.
The narration is very good. I am amazed even at how well characters in the previous book were instantly identified when they appeared in this book. Such a wide range of identifiable voices amazes me.
Credit well spent in my opinion.... now, how long do I need to wait for book 3?
What is up with the reviews for this book??
