H. P. Lovecraft
FNH Audio presents an unabridged reading of H. P. Lovecraft's The Dunwhich Horror.
Lavina Whateley has birthed an abomination, and now it's got free. First one family and then another are wiped off the face of the Earth, and this is just the beginning of the plan. Dr. Armitage, the Librarian at Miskatonic University, is scared. He's pieced together the clues and has a dreadful inkling of what is abroad. This ageing doctor may be the world's only hope.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes, this book is a must to anyone interested in Lovecraft's stories. But don't pick this version. There are free versions of this story on Librivox and I'm sure the performance is better. For this version, I had a hard time to follow the narrator.Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Felbrigg Napoleon Herriot?
Anyone without the strong accent. I'm pretty fluent in English (I'm a Francophone from Montreal, Canada), but I was having a hard to fully understand what he said.Good story, hard to listen

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
H.P Lovecraft, like M.R. James before him and Ramsey Campbell after, was a master of reticence. He revealed just enough to tell his story and achieve his effect but no more. I think this is why people have struggled to translate his work into other media. I can think of no movie or audio play that creates the same feeling as reading the stories.I've heard very few readings that capture the mood and essence of the tales either. But this independent (and inexpensive) production achieves it. Mr. Herriott's voice, accent and delivery are perfectly suited to the material. To my ear, this sounds like Lovecraft.
