Ah, the sweet, sweet singing of the whip-poor-wills. Surely one of the most innocent, purest bird songs one can know, plaintive and perfect in the clean morning light. Unless, of course, you happen to live near the decayed New England village of Dunwich. Unless, of course, you have seen the mad fires blazing from the ancient stone circles atop Sentinel Mountain. And unless, of course, you remember the horrible events of 70 years ago and happen to be familiar with the name "Whately". Then the singing of whip-poor-wills isn't so sweet, and their patient waiting seems anything but innocent.

the story is great and is performed very well, almost too well. the accents used while correct and well done to the time period the story takes place in makes it hard to understand what the actors are saying some times. without some background on the words used you may also need to go to a dictionary. overall excellent

The dramatization made it seem spookier and the characters more realistic.

This was a dramatic performance of a classic horror story by HP Lovecraft. I haven’t read the Dunwich Horror, so I decided to hear this production. It features a great cast. It was easy to follow the story with great narration and the players clearly noted. Appreciated how details were described. A great production worthy of your time. I will have to read the book now.

Lovecraft paints amazing and horrifying pictures with his writing.

What aspect of the narrators’s performance would you have changed?

I knew it was a performance, but I didn't really enjoy it as much as I should have. I just think I prefer a straight reading to the dramatization.
