Publisher's summary

Two sisters, one nightmare.

The last thing they wanted to do was spend time with each other. Now their very survival depends on it.

Forced from their home and thrown into an apocalyptic horror neither could have imagined, they didn’t think things could get any worse. They were wrong.

As they navigate the city to escape to safety, terror lurks for them on every corner. The reanimating virus has taken away everything they loved, but today, they’re going to start fighting back.

Living or dead, everyone is a threat. The rules have changed and for these two, time is running out. What will they do to survive? What will they do for each other? Is being family reason enough to stay together? Now, they’re about to find out.

Entertaining, fast-paced, with a hint of realness

The End of Everything: Book 1 by Christopher Artinian and narrated by Kim Bretton turned out to be an incredible story about two siblings that has a hint of realness to it. This would be my brother and me during the zombie apocalypse (me wanting to smack him upside the head mainly...). Would recommend if you enjoy zombie books.

What’s it about? Two sisters, Wren and Robyn (Bobby), are trying to find safety in the zombie apocalypse, but it’s never that easy. Wren has her head on straight and knows what must be done to survive, while Robyn is a bit in denial plus some. They meet some not-so-good people, some good, and some straight up crazies. The banter between them helps make the book fun and stand out from others zompoc stories and adds a realness to it. It’s a fast-paced story with a good amount of action. The story does leave an opening for future books. If you aren’t sure about the oldest sister Robyn at first, stick with it because her character does develop into someone you will like.

Christopher has written an engaging story that is difficult to put down (I listened in one sitting). This is the second book I’ve listened to by him and I haven’t been disappointed.

The narrator, Kim Bretton, did a wonderful job. I enjoyed her bringing the sister’s to life.

Overall I recommend, especially if you enjoy the zompoc genre.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: Swearing off and on throughout, drinking, guy attempts to attack/rape one of the sister's, drugging of one sister so guy can lure the other elsewhere, weapons (knives, javelins), death (people, zombies- but the Z’s are already dead so why I am writing this?)...

A good start to explaining how she got to safe haven

Ren and her sister make the perfect odd couple trying to survive the apocalypse as they make way towards their Grandpa’s. The story is amusing at times but also serious. Great Listen!

Entertaining!

I loved everything about both the book and the narrator as well. Christopher Artinian captures the struggles and stresses of sibling rivalry and balances it with the importance of family and survival. I found the storyline entertaining and the characters endearing, and can’t wait to listen to book 2 in the series.

I Seriously Cannot Wait for the Next Book!

I just can't put into words how much I enjoyed this book. It was so good! At first the sisters annoyed me because they bickered so much, but then I "watched" them grow and learn and broaden their emotions and feelings and determination and I just learned to love them. This book was funny and suspenseful and every minute of the book was enjoyable. The narrator was out of this world. She had so much expression in her voice and got that teenage attitude across so well I would almost believe she was still a teenager herself. If you are on the fence about getting this book, just do it. It is so enjoyable and so much fun to listen to that I was genuinely sad when it ended. I wanted the book to be hours longer so I could just keep listening. I received this book for free at my request from Audobook Boom in exchange for my unbiased opinion and my unbiased opinion is that this book is fantastic, awesome, fascinating, and wonderful.

Pretty good

Listened to it with my son who is 11 and now he's interested in what happens next! For me it is my first time listening to a book and I'm still undecided if I enjoy it.

YA apocalyptic fun

Fantastic performance for this YA apocalyptic thriller. Wren and Robin lost their parents at the beginning of a zombie apocalypse and now must overcome years of sibling conflict so they can learn to survive together in a world they never expected to face. Lots of ups and downs, twists and turns, and action in this apocalyptic YA adventure. Some language, but nothing I wouldn't let my 4 kids listen to, overall this is a great story for anyone who loves zombie fiction.

My only complaint was the sibling bickering. Maybe it's the fact that I have to listen to my kids all day, or the fact that I would seriously hope if something happened to my husband and myself they would be able to put aside their petty bickering so they could focus on surviving. I wanted to shake the sisters and tell them to forget all their stupid petty fighting so they could focus on what was real. Despite "the end of everything" it seemed like they just couldn't remember that life had changed, and they were constantly reverting to petty fighting. It was a bit much at times, but overall it was a story worth listening to.

Great New Series!

I loved this new series. It’s a different take on zombies with survivors not being raised in how to survive or having any knowledge of what to do. Lots of twist and turns with this story. Love the characters and can not wait to read the next book in the series. If you a fast pace storyline and lots of action then this author is for you! If you have never listened or read this author you are missing out. Highly recommend this series and the rest of his work also.

Great!

This first book is great! Learning these new characters and following the new paths forces you deeper into their characters, almost like you’re there wondering what’s going to happen next! I can’t wait for the next book. Thank you for a wonderful book!

solid first entry

good first installment with great narration. I like the dynamic with the sisters, though the back and forth dialog can be a little cheesey at times. that doesn't take away from the good story and good characters, going to continue listening for sure.
