Critic reviews

"Guidall's warm, lived-in voice brings so much to the experience, somehow always conveying understanding of and sympathy for the human dimension in the most terrible scenes of mayhem, the most morally ambiguous situations. His attention and pace never falter, and he is wonderful at the accents, including several flavors of Irish, along with Russian, Iranian, and an uncanny Israeli." (AudioFile)

Great story, great narration

Loved the book and the entire series. Each book is enjoyable on its own, but the series is one I recommend often. I have preordered the last several and look forward to the next one.

Guidall can't do an English accent for his life.

I love George Guidall's narration of the Longmire books, but he came up short in this international thriller. The story was fantastic, it just needed someone who can pull off the accents.

Cannot get enough Gabriel Alon

As always an exciting story with great historical background. You learn while you are entertained and each story does not follow the pattern of the last Daniel Silva is a master.

Gabriel and Kellor together again.

If you like the Gabriel Allon books this will not disappoint. This seems like the start of a spin off on Kellor the MI6 man.

Addictive story

Excellent story superbly narrated by Guidell. Athough fictional, it recreates instances of actual present international politics.

As usual - excellent.

Occasionally confusing as the story jumps from subject to subject or location to location, but one of his most satisfying stories!

another excellent novel by the best spy novelist

Not his best, but still an excellent work worth reading. Daniel Silva is one of the best in this genre. His stories are entertaining and full of enough real-life events to make them exciting and pertinent. None of his books have ever disappointed.
