Cornwall, Midsummer 1947. Pendizack Manor Hotel is buried in the rubble of a collapsed cliff. Seven guests have perished, but is it murder, and what brought this strange assembly together for a moonlit feast before this Act of God - or Man? Over the week before the landslide, we meet the hotel guests in all their eccentric glory: and as friendships form and romances blossom, sins are revealed, and the cliff cracks widen....

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was an interesting story and found the character development engagement. It wasn't a page turner but it was a perfect listen while cleaning out the garage.

A character-driven plot of several players with their respective angst-ridden stories. It isn’t really a mystery though there are quite a few surprises by way of how the characters think and behave over the course of the narrative. Perhaps a little melodramatic at times and overly fortuitous on the whole. I suppose it depends on the reigning mood of the listener. Regardless, it is very well-written. And the narration was excellent.

A wonderful listen…
