About this listen

One conversation is all it takes to break a world wide open. Seventeen-year-old Macy Lyons has been through something no one should ever have to experience. And she's dealt with it entirely alone. On the outside, she's got it pretty good. Her family's well off, she's dating the cute boy next door, she has plenty of friends, and although she long ago wrote her mother off as a superficial gym rat, she's thankful to have allies in her loving, laid-back dad and her younger brother.

But a conversation with a boy at a party one night shakes Macy out of the carefully maintained complacency that has defined her life so far. The boy is Sebastian Ruiz, a recovering addict who recognizes that Macy is hardened by dark secrets. And as Macy falls for Sebastian, she realizes that while revealing her secret could ruin her seemingly perfect family, keeping silent might just destroy her.

The Fix follows two good-hearted teenagers coming to terms with the cards they were dealt. It's also about the fixes we rely on to cope with our most shameful secrets and the hope and fear that comes with meeting someone who challenges us to come clean.

This is a heartbreaking listen. I enjoyed the characters and the story very much. I do think it ended a little abruptly and things didn't really get settled but it is worth the listen. The narration is done ok.

Heartbreaking

This is a great book for people that have an addiction or have been sexually abused.

Loved the content

in the beginning it was kind of hard for me to focus on it since it was like high school-ish type stuff. I did though decide to keep giving it a try because it wasn't too bad. I liked how two broken souls connected and it ended up being a positive experience... But I'm kind of like seriously where do you find a guy like that who is an addict?? especially when he had a history of anger issues... I just didn't think it was necessarily realistic how he healed so easily but that's probably my own jaded experiences clouding my judgment lol I did though really appreciate how her experiences woven into a storyline of women and their feelings of what is okay when that with the man and how to express it according to how they truly feel. It was a fairly complex storyline that I could appreciate even though it was high school kids and I felt a bit unrealistic... But I did listen to it all the way through so that must mean it held my interest enough to listen to the whole thing.

mixed feelings...

Loved this book. I hadn’t read the author before, but the book read very similarly to some of my other favorites (Colleen Hoover, Jodi Picoult) in a way that was very comfortable.

this is an excellent book- very well read. At some point in our lives we may not understand some our selves or our lives.. until we stop, step back, look at and within ourselves and then we deal with what we have been through and use the support and love our loved ones. Amasung

I really enjoyed this book. It moved along with no dragging. Perfect comparison of how 2 totally different addictions are alike. Interesting coming of age and love story combination. Real, honest, vulnerable.

Awesome! Fantastic!

I did not appreciate the bad language that most of the characters had. Otherwise it was a good story. It would have been more enjoyable though without all the bad words.
