Very enjoyable

This is the second book in the Foundling Series, the first having introduced us to James. In this book, we are introduced to Emily, whose family are distant and unloving with her. Her mother runs off with another man and her father commits suicide, forcing Emily to turn to a position as governess to a young lady, Constance, whose Uncle Robert is a veteran of the war, injured, traumatized, and mourning the loss of his brother, Constance's father.

As the month long trial period of her position of governess approaches its end, Emily's mother makes a surprise appearance at Robert's house, and announces to the gathering there, that Emily is not her daughter, but a foundling, causing Emily to resign her post and flee back to her godmother's residence. Here she is subject to more revelations, while mourning the loss of her position, her charge, and the man she had fallen in love with.

This is another very enjoyable book by Audrey Harrison, well, written, and interesting. Melanie Fraser does her usual excellent job of narration, which I thoroughly enjoy listening to.

Great Regency Story!

I really enjoyed this book with it's original storyline and characters. I loved how Audrey Harrison wrote the unexpected twists in the book and had certain characters to be very endearing while others were despicable. Melanie Fraser performed this book flawlessly. I loved how she had distinguishable voices for the various characters. Without giving away spoilers, the ending of this book was so good. I also loved how this is a standalone listen, yet some characters from The Foundling Duke had cameo appearances in this book.

Great period romance

I loved this period romance that melds well with The Foundling Duke, the first book in the series. With themes of romance, PTSD, child abandonment, family secrets and social status, this story will pull at your heart and keep you captivated to the end. The narrators smooth British accent suits the story well and she has no problem doing believable accents. I enjoyed the great characters that were easy to become attached to and the threads that connected well to book 1. This is an enjoyable well written and narrated audiobook with a nice HEA ending.

Sweet and Clean Historical Romance

This is the second book in the Series, a standalone story, with interwoven characters from the first book. This is a sweet and clean historical romance. This story is very well written and the characters are wonderful. The story has unexpected twists. I love the ending. This is a beautiful story. The narration was well done. Melanie Fraser has a great voice, well paced, with a great range of voices, easy distinguishable. Her voice suits perfectly this Historical Romance. I enjoyed my listening. Writing is ok, narrator is terible

The story is fairly entertaining but I would enjoy it much more if I were reading it as text rather than listen to this narrator. Her sing-song cadence is excruciating!

Best. Series. Ever.

This is only a two-book series but it is by far one of the best series I have ever, and I mean ever, listened to!!!!

Audrey Harrison has a way with Regency Romances. She just does. This series resonated on all levels. James, the foundling from book one makes an appearance (if you haven't listened to the first book, please do) but this book is all about Emily. Emily is a wonderful 20-something who has not had much luck in the love department - from her parents or potential suitors. She is feisty and caring and genuine. I loved her.

Melanie Fraser narrated Emily to perfection! This series dealt with a lot of emotions and Fraser brought the feels. I'll admit, I cried (good tears) many times.

I had hoped that there would be more to this series but the beautifully written and totally satisfying epilogue says otherwise.

There are many audiobooks in circulation. This series is definitely one of the good ones.

Drama-Filled Fairytale

I loved the book for the simple reason that it tells an old-fashioned fairytale, and I love fairytales. What's very endearing about this book is that it also tells the stories of three people who had to suffer for the bad things that they did not do, and all three were able to triumph eventually.

It's refreshing to listen to a book with both story and narration that complement each other perfectly. I highly recommend The Foundling Lady for those who love regency romances.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Foundling Lady

This is a sweet series, and I love how it ties back in to book 1. Emily has been kept in the dark her entire life about who she is and who her parents are. That is until life starts to unravel and all the secrets are revealed. As the secrets come out life gets a bit mixed up and crazy, but with any good historical romance things always seem to work themselves out! Melanie did a fantastic job with the narration.
