About this listen

The New York Times bestselling sensation that’s “Steel Magnolias set in Manhattan” (USA Today)

Once a week, an eclectic group of women comes together at a New York City yarn shop to work on their latest projects—and share the stories of their lives…

Walker & Daughter is Georgia Walker’s little yarn shop, tucked into a quiet storefront on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Its Friday night knitting club is improvised by some of Georgia’s regulars, who stroll into the shop looking for tips on knitting and end up finding much, much more. So now, once a week, they gather to work on their latest projects and to chat—and occasionally clash—over their stories of love, life, and everything in between.

However, unexpected changes soon throw these women’s lives into disarray, and the shop’s comfortable world gets shaken up like a snow globe. When the unthinkable happens, they realize that what they’ve created is not just a knitting club—it’s a sisterhood.

Amazingly accurate!

For being a work of fiction, this story rings too close to accurate when it comes to the community of knitting. I am very pleased that I took the time to listen.

Great book!

It was a bit of a slow start, but I’m so glad I didn’t let that stop me. Ended totally different than I expected.

Wow

Loved it through and through. I work in a knitting store myself. And it was so relatable and inspiring.

NIce story, simple book

What did you love best about The Friday Night Knitting Club?

This was a nice story. Everyone loves everyone (a bit much for me), but it was a nice simple read. I liked this book but not enough to listen to the next in the series.

Surprise Ending

I liked the twists of the story. The narration was good, really able to tell characters apart by voice change.

entertaining

This book was entertaining. The target reader will have to be into the fiber arts. Cancer deaths are getting very cliche in contemporary writing, and the author could have found some other creative ending.

Only 1 complaint

I enjoyed the book greatly, except for the foul language. Granted there wasn't a lot but feel it was unnecessary to put it in.

light and entertaining

I have not completed the book, but thus far I am enjoying the story. The narrator's black male voice is laughable. If I were an educated black male,I'd be insulted. It would have been more appropriate to attempt a generic male voice. She also does a poor imitation of a West Indian accent. When I first heard it, I was not sure. what it was.
