About this listen

The New York Times bestselling author of Nantucket Sisters whisks listeners away to the island of Nantucket in this delightful story about two single parents who accidentally rent the same house one sunny summer.

Wendy Anderson is 35, the mother of two children, and happily married - until she discovers her husband Zack has cheated on her. Confused, angry, and lost, she rents a house on Nantucket for two summer months. When she and her children arrive at Isle Stay, she discovers that Trevor Black, 30, recently widowed, and his son Dylan, 5, have also rented the house. Neither one is willing to give up their much-needed vacations, so Wendy and Trevor devise a plan to share the house for the summer. Preparing meals in their one kitchen, Wendy and Trevor become friends, and chemistry builds throughout the seabreezy summer. But the house is full of their children, and neither is sure they're ready to move on after recent heartbreaks. Over the last sun-soaked weekend of the summer, as chaos reigns and emotions run as high as the temperatures, Wendy must decide where her heart truly lies.

Interesting but just a simple sweet love story. Nothing that really grabbed me and couldn't quit listening. The narrator was quit boring through most of the book.

Narration was So so

Enjoyed the main characters and this was an easy listen. Kept me interested though I times I thought "wow, she's really being dumb," but that's of course because I knew what was going on for the other guy. Good listen or read when you don't want to have to think too much.

A good summer listen

So glad about the ending 😊 this book was a great one, rich with imagery, detail but not so much that you lost the story. Heartwarming and engaging …and a great Nantucket beach story, family story and more all rolled together into a beautiful work. I’m ready for my next read from this writer!

I read some of the reviews saying that the ending was unrealistic or it all happened to quickly or whatever, but I say Thank You to the author. I mean it’s her story, and it’s her pen. Who doesn’t love a happy ending? I know I love these types of it all works out in the end stories!

Sometimes, after reading r listening to a book or going to a movie, I am angry at the author. Cause there isn’t hardly ever a happy ending anymore! I listen to books to escape the emotional roller payer of my life. Taking care of my mom who is now on hospice with Alzheimer’s. My dad isn’t around cause he had a heart attack on his first vacation with my mom about a month after retiring after working for over 35 years and he died there. So my mom came home from that vacation alone.

I don’t know too many people that are having a happy time with it in real life either, so for me, I love a story where everyone you grew to love ended up livening happily ever after. There is enough of drama and heartache in real life. It’s wonderful to escape and get lost for a little while where dreams come true. If I was holding a pen writing a story, my books would have happy endings too! Can’t wait to listen to another one! ❤️

I loved this story!! ❤️
