About this listen

It started with a lie. A night of blurred lines between a teacher and a student.

I wasn’t her student, yet it was the single most defining night of my life. I’ve never been the man she thinks I am.

Most people have no idea about the life I’ve lived or the words that ring true when it comes to me—still waters run deep.

But you’d be hard-pressed to find a coed on the TGU campus who knows otherwise…because I’ve never corrected them.

The clock is ticking down, it’s Fourth and Inches with the ball inside the one-yard line and the focus is on me, The Guy on the Left. I’ve never felt like a football god, inside I’m…just Troy.

It’s time to set the record straight. For my son, I‘ll find the strength.

In her eyes, I’m determined to gain redemption. I will have them both, even if I have to take my eye off the ball.

Always love Kate Stewart

So far my favorite in this series. I LOVED the narration as well as the tie ins with the first book. These have been in my Kindle since they first came out, but I really enjoyed them on Audible. Off to listen to #3!

I liked it

The story was cute! The FMC got on my nerves a little bit. The narration was perfect!

Beautiful story; beautiful narration

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are simply perfection in this masterfully narrated book. This book was filled with emotional storylines - and you could feel every bit of emotion through the voices of the narrators. I cried, I laughed and I got the warm and fuzzies throughout this whole book. A 2025 favorite.

Love. Love. Loved!

I haven’t read a book by Kate that I haven’t fallen in love with the characters and the story. She takes my heart through a roller coaster 🎢 but that ending…that epilogue! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The epitome of character development

Kate Stewart is my favorite author in this genre and The Underdog Series did not disappoint. The character development, the writing, the performances by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell brought the story to life and let me feel ALL of the emotions. One of my favorites!

I’m only giving the story a 4star because…

Kate Stewart is one of my favorites… but this book felt choppy. Every scene in this book that Troy had with ANYONE outside of Clarissa… wasn’t actually shown, it was just referred to later. I understand it is because they relate to Lance and Theo’s stories, but i thought it could have been written more smoothly. Other than that, GET THIS BOOK. It’s adorable, sexy, funny and of course the two narrators are FABULOUS. Absolutely enjoyed it!

Sweet, authentic and emotional

This is a great and emotional story. Loved it. Even though kind of young, the hero acts with maturity and is super hot.

Oh my Dante!!

I read this book last year and loved it, but the audio is so much more emotional. Dante definitely stole the show, he was absolutely hilarious. Once again Joe and Maxine nailed it.
