About this listen

A dark secret, a secluded island, and nowhere to run.

When author Daisy Dawkins hits a wall of writer’s block, she seeks out a retreat at the infamous Coyote Island, home of the reclusive publishing guru Greg Bregoli. Upon her arrival at Bregoli Estate, strange things begin happening to Daisy, but none of the other writers seem to notice the estate’s odder qualities. Before long, Daisy is caught between two worlds, the living...and the dead.

WInchester Mansion

In the small town of Black Bay, a vacant, forgotten house sits atop an overlooking bluff.

When Bailey and Bodhi Taylor move in and begin renovations, the house seems perfect. But things move on their own, screams echo from the basement, and Bailey sees a shadowy figure out of the corner of her eye. Is the house haunted? And if it is, what does the ghost want with Bailey?

I didn't find these particularly scary, though some parts were a bit tense. There's a total of four books with two different story lines. Some reviewers had complained that she took three books to explain a haunting of house-flippers; I didn't mind that at all. Chop it up into 50 or have one. They're all included here and doesn't leave you hanging.

***POSSIBLE SPOILER***
What the heck happened to the money that Body and Bailey paid to "Milo" for the house? Did I miss the explanation?

Slightly different take on ghost-stories.

This is a great read. It’s hard to put down once you pick it up. Storyline is great. Suspenseful. Love this book.

Loved it

these were good Ghost Stories. the second book was in 3 parts. the first 2 parts were very good. the last one read like the author was trying to make it longer with descriptions of everything. but the story was good and I wanted to finish it to see what happens. I fast forward a few places but I would still recommend this book.

both stories were good.

Excellent story and narration Daisy has writers block and goes to the island of a publishing guru, getting a lot more than she thought. Have read these, and now with the audio added to the stories, the tension and character of Daisy came thru, well done.

The first book in the set, actually about Daisy Dawkins, was pretty good. A little tropey but not bad since it wasn't too long, wrapped up decently, and the PPT holes weren't too big that they couldn't be ignored.

The next three books in the set are totally unrelated and follow a house flipping couple as they try to figure out who murdered the children of the home's original owners. Not a bad premise, but it shouldn't take three books to tell the story; this isn't Tolkien. A lot of suspension of disbelief is needed. A LOT.

When I'm nearly at the end of book two and there's still no resolution (they've only *just* concluded there was foul play??), I'm going to give up. The main character needs to be smacked as she is plagued with Scooby Doo logic, the ghost has endless tantrums that alternate between bodily harm and grand displays, invading dreams, and can somehow become tangible enough to sell a house and sign paperwork???? I don't know if the writer knows just hope many hours are spent in the office signing 10,000 papers to buy/sell a house, but oy.

I lived haunted house stories, but I give up.

This is the book that doesn't end...

Very slow. I listened to the 1st book. At that point, I couldn't imagine listening to the next. Not a great story. Zero intensity and mystery.

Slow!
