About this listen

At the age of 19, Seth Sileski had everything. A superb athlete and scholar, handsome and popular, he was the pride of Thunder Point. Destined for greatness, he lost it all in a terrible accident that put an end to his professional football career when it had barely begun. The people in his hometown have never forgotten what might have been. Seth has come to terms with the turns his life has taken. But now he's been presented with an opportunity to return home and show his father - and the people of Thunder Point - he's become a better, humbler version of his former self. Winning over his father isn't the only challenge. Seth must also find a way to convince his childhood neighbor and best friend, Iris McKinley, to forgive him for breaking her heart. With his homecoming, will Seth be able to convince the town, his family, and especially Iris that he's finally ready to be the man who will make them all proud?

I find the ending of all these books very abrupt and not well thought out.

…from skillful Robyn Carr’s the Thunder Point series. The Homecoming could be read or listened to as a stand alone book, but more enjoyable if you’ve read the others up to this book 6. I’ll not recap the story or go into details here — many other reviewers have done this service. But, I will say that Ms Carr does a great job of following through on her characters that she’s introduced previously in her books in this series and each book at least mentions or elaborates on the ongoing characters’ storylines. Though each one is based around the community of Thunder Point on the Oregon coast, she ensures that the characters she brings in introduce varying careers, histories, interests and associated outside locales that add to the color and somewhat of a uniqueness to each book.

Also, along with it being another good story The Homecoming is ensured to be enjoyable with the narration of Therese Plummer. Glad that she’s been the consistent reader for this entire series, as she’s good in differentiating the various characters and you can relax and just happily listen as you know she’ll do a flawless delivery, sans any personal quirks, affectations or irritating faux pas.

Another enjoyable one…

I’ve read all of the Virgin River and Sullivan’s Crossing Series books by Robyn Carr. Thunder Point is an interesting series with many lively characters. I was beginning to think the stories were all blending together and sounding the same. This storyline caught my attention, with attention to the past history of the characters. It was hard to believe at first that this despicable man would be able to redeem himself, and especially that a teenager would be so drunk that he would completely forget what he did. The amount of time that passed between the event and when the story takes place, and the amount of time he took before he could be actually forgiven made the story more believable to me. I love the subtle references in the story to other books!
Troy’s reference to the mountains in California with a little bar like “this one”... Jacks? I have read so many of Robyn’s books that I am beginning to guess what the next line in the story is! I love it when that happens! The surprise guest at the end of the story made a tears flow from my eyes. A great story to listen to - Read it in a day!

Interesting story!

Another heavy topic…

I very much liked this story. I am a fan of second chance romance’s. This book just was sweet and a little sad but what I loved about it is that it is also real.

The guidance counsellor doesn’t always have all the answers but she is there for and ear or someone to get advice from. I really liked how friendly she was with everyone.

But she was real too, when her old friend comes back she doesn’t through any punches she tells him like it is. And how much he hurt her. She isn’t looking for their friendship back but he is persistent and doesn’t give us at all. (Which just made me like him all the more.)

This book also deals with some heavy issues, like accidents (cars) and abuse. I liked how it wasn’t a side note it was our in the open and talked about discussed and with possible solutions.

I love Therese Plummer she just puts so much emotion into her performance’s you can’t help but love the book based on that alone.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Sweet simple story with a few twists. The author pulls you into small town life and acquaints you intimately with all the characters. You feel like you're part of the small town. I really enjoyed the book and the narrator was very good.

Easy listening
