Publisher's summary

Kaine Prescott is no stranger to death. When her husband died two years ago, her pleas for further investigation into his suspicious death fell on deaf ears. In desperate need of a fresh start, Kaine purchases an old house sight unseen in her grandfather's Wisconsin hometown. But one look at the eerie, abandoned house immediately leaves her questioning her rash decision. And when the house's dark history comes back with a vengeance, Kaine is forced to face the terrifying realization she has nowhere left to hide.

A century earlier, the house on Foster Hill holds nothing but painful memories for Ivy Thorpe. When an unidentified woman is found dead on the property, Ivy is compelled to discover her identity. Ivy's search leads her into dangerous waters and, even as she works together with a man from her past, can she unravel the mystery before any other lives - including her own - are lost?

couldn't stop listening

I have been looking for a book that would touch me as much as this one did. Not only was it incredibly suspenseful and thought provoking, it told a story of a long line of strong women. Every chapter from past to present showed the strength of women and God, and the love that can prevail through hardships and healing.

Gothic Elements, Great Story!

Really enjoyed this story! I loved the Gothic elements, romance and mystery. I also loved the split time story lines.

awesome mystery, juvenile romance

This is an excellent read! My only criticism is the nature and description of the romance felt very idealistic. If this book were geared towards 13 year old girls, I would say that it's perfect; however, the indications of sex trafficking and other more gruesome details make it a little darker than what I would view as appropriate for a teen audience. The mystery was captivating. The clues that tie into both of our main characters stories make this riveting! Apart from my one complaint, this is a good read.

The House on Foster Hill

It was a pretty good mystery story. A little too much religion for me.

This one had me guessing right up to the last. I'm usually good at knowing "who dunnit" long before the end.

The pace was good, Didn't get lost from the switching of POV's. Would read another offering from this author.
