About this listen

In everything from health care and politics to technology and economics, we are experiencing feelings of loss, anger, and anxiety. In the Enneagram's wisdom, our number determines how we respond. We automatically move to another number when we're feeling stress and to yet another when we're feeling secure. Such moves may help us feel better temporarily but don't last.

For those who want to dive deeper into Enneagram wisdom, expert teacher Suzanne Stabile opens the concept of three Centers of Intelligence: thinking, feeling, and doing. When we learn to manage these centers, each for its intended purpose, we open a path to reducing fear, improving relationships, growing spiritually, and finding wholeness. Drawing on the dynamic stability of the Enneagram, she explains each number's preferred and repressed Center of Intelligence and its role in helping us move toward internal balance. Using brief focused chapters, this book provides what we need to deal with the constant change and complexity of our world to achieve lasting transformation in our lives.

Most insightful work on the Enneagram since Richard Rohr

I was first introduced to the enneagram over fifteen years ago with Father Richard Rohr’s work. Since then I’ve found much of the work on the Enneagram redundant and superficial. I was familiar with Suzanne who is a kindred spirit as a fellow adoptee and enneagram 2 but her recent interview with Emily P. Freeman had me scrambling to read this book. I loved it because it took my understanding of my strengths and weaknesses to another level and provided clarity on how to hopefully bring about change and ultimately transformation to my life.

Helpful

It’s a little hard to understand any talk on the enneagram on audio. And it would have been helpful for the author to have reviewed each type at the beginning. And I learned a great deal from this. The author is a person I wish I knew and was friends with

One of the best Enneagram books for transformation

As my spouse and I recently discussed, The Journey Toward Wholeness is one of the best books on utilizing the Enneagram for transformation leading to a better, more fulfilling life. It is both contemplative and practical.

Perfect concise overview of Enneagram!

I have read a handful of books about the Enneagram, but this one has been the best overall teacher for those who are serious about beginning their journey. It is not exhaustive, but it is comprehensive. I enjoyed the personal testimonies for each number as they help to flesh out how people in these numbers process.
I also truly enjoyed hearing Suzanne read the book. She has a pleasant voice, is easy to listen to, and it feels like you are sitting in her seminar.

Deeper dive into the Enneagram

Loved it! Love the author. Appreciated the structure of the book and deep dive into each number for stances and triads.

A must read (listen) for anyone wanting to learn more about the Enneagram and use it for more self awareness.

Enneagram knowledge made tangible

I have been reading and exploring the Enneagram for almost 2 decades, l Iistened to an impeccable podcast on The Liturgist (Spotify) with Suzanne Stabile. Once I heard her I felt I wanted to hear more of how she shares her knowledge of the Enneagram. This book continues to deepen my understanding of myself and how I see relationships with people around me.

Care and love through her story and voice.

I love Suzanne Stabile and wish to one day come to one of her cohorts. The enneagram has been a kind companion through trauma, new relationships, and sudden loss of three family members. This book helped me deepen my understanding of myself and others. Thank you, Suzanne for sharing your life with us.

Thoughtful & Insightful Invitation Towards Wholeness

I loved Suzanne’s intentional & thoughtfully inclusive way of sharing about each Type. Always generous, respectful & gentle in her teachings— she embodies what is best about the study of the Enneagram. She’s given this Four a glimpse into my own soul, tendencies & leanings— as well as an understanding of my Type’s strengths & possibilities. I now understand the difference between the road to change versus transformation, a distinction that was previously lost to me in my journey towards wholeness. My soul feels full after listening to this beautiful book.
