About this listen

Samantha thought following a mysterious diary around the French Quarter of New Orleans would be a harmless way to learn about her new hometown until it became about murder.

Discover the places and people that make New Orleans unique through the eyes of newcomer, Samantha Richardson, in the first audiobook in the French Quarter Mystery Series, The Key to Murder.

Looking for a fresh start as well as clues to her past, Samantha is thrilled with her furnished apartment even with its strange diary and key left on the living room bookshelf. Sammy, as her new friends call her, explores the city’s French Quarter by following the riddles in the anonymous diary. It was fun until it led to a body. Now Sammy must find out who wrote the journal before the murderer strikes again.

Sammy moved to New Orleans for answers and a new life, but is a murderer going to keep her from her future?

Fun first cozy mystery!

The Key to Murder: A French Quarter Mystery is an enjoyable cozy. Who is the murderer? Kept me guessing until the reveal. Of course, I'm not giving that away. All the suspects are pretty likeable, no obvious villains. Setting is New Orleans and the author, Jen Pitts, does an excellent job of capturing the essence of the city. Looking forward to her next book.

A scavenger hunt that revealed her past.

This was an intriguing tale, about an area a lot of people would like to visit, for historical and cultural reasons.
Then to add the mystery of the key and book, then some. Well, it adds to a nail bitting drama in the end.

Great cozy mystery

I have listened to The Key To Murder Book 1 two times now. It is a fun and interesting cozy mystery. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Sammy finds a diary that leads her on a scavenger hunt through New Orleans. The narrator was a good fit for Sammy and did well with the other characters as well. Definitely recommend for fun easy listening.

Wow

Wow! I have found a new mystery author. Jen Pitts has written a great book. I found myself laughing out loud a few times, Jen's writing is both funny, fun and intriguing all in on great storyline. The story unfolds in such a way as you do not guess the ending something I like in a good mystery. I found my self not wanting to stop and listened to most of the book straight through. By the time I reached the end, I was ready to find out what was next for Sam. The narrator of this book is Blair Seibert and I think she is the perfect voice for Samantha. I can't wait to read more in this series.

An interesting mystery

Sammy the MC moves to New Orleans to try to learn of her birth parents. Jen gives you a taste of NOLA with her descriptions of the places and the atmosphere in the city. This is a mystery story that had me wondering through the to the conclusion who the perpretator was. I liked this story because of the writing and also the narrator did a good job with the range of character voices. I recommend this audiobook. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and this is my honest review.

Being from Louisiana…

This book is so bad. I’m from Louisiana so I thought it might be a good one. Nope. The story is lacking. Lacking everything a good cozy mystery should have and the characters are unbelievable. Like the author slapped it together and then put a little Louisiana bow around it and tried to sell it. If you want to love it then bless your little heart.
