About this listen

Heartbroken and betrayed, I fled the faerie court only to be dragged back by my captor, a dark Fae Prince.

I should have never made a deal with Ruskin.

He's used me before.

Now, he needs me again. The Queen has been doomed to eternal sleep. And I alone can break the spell.

Once she wakes, my work should be done. I can leave and force myself to forget the handsome prince and his brutal yet beautiful court.

Queen Evanthe's return was meant to heal the land, but she's too weak.

It doesn't take long to discover that an iron-soaked curse now haunts this land.

Only by uncovering the sinister plots woven through the court can I break the curse.

I won't be able to do it alone.

Somehow, magic runs through my blood, and every day at court I'm closer to unlocking my true power.

But it's deeply entwined with the Fae Prince. And he's not to be trusted.

Nor can I trust myself around him.

His kisses draw me to him, even as his manipulations threaten to tear us apart.

And I fear the secrets he's keeping could doom us all.

The Kingdom Cursed by Iron by Zara Storm is the second book in the series The gold Weaver. Ash Kingsley did an again fantastic job on the narration of this story. The characters are very well thought out and well executed. The story is interesting, entertaining, keeps you engaged, and fun. The female protagonist is not always whining of being trapped this time. But she is weary of the fae prince. She is the only one who can save the fae kingdom. The question is will she or will she let the kingdom fall. Never trust the Fae is a saying for a reason.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, "The Court that Bleeds Gold," and was happy to continue Eleanor's story. Good world building and I love the concept of being able to manipulate metal. The chemistry between Ella and Ruskin is still there, but there's some back and forth. There's also action in the story and I liked the pacing.

I listened to this book narrated by Ash Kingsley. I like her better doing female than male voices, but still a good job.

Looking forward to book three.

This is the second story in the "Gold Weaver" series. They need to be read in order because the last one ended in a cliffhanger. This one picks up where that one left off. The story is about Ruskin and Eleanor. now there is a threat to the court. It is a magical story with a witch finding her magic, a fae prince, fairytale qualities, green, fate and love.

I only have a few issues with the overall. I feel like the author tried too hard to create conflict between the two main characters to make it more of an enemies to lovers trope. The fmc had too many unreasonable outbursts creating an argument so she could not get any closer to the mmc.

Small spoiler

Even after the two had gotten closer and started to fall for each other, the fmc had some random issue with something the mmc had little control over and so it created distance between them only for her to end up getting over it because she finally realized that she was being dumb. If anything, she was the jerk in the situation.

Other than that, the book was good and I will be getting the next one in the series

I like the majority of this book

This is book 2 of The Gold Weaver and picks up where book 1 left off. The story involves the paranormal. It was a page turning story of one human and the Fae. It had intrigue, suspense, adventure, danger and romance. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series to see how the main characters continue the story.

I loved everything about this book. It was fast paced and exciting, and Eleanor learned so much and grew greatly in her power. Ends on a cliffhanger so make sure you have the third ready! Sooo good. I totally called the plot twist but im not mad about it.

The Kingdom Cursed by Iron was fantastic, and the narrator did an amazing job with the characters and the story. I absolutely loved his voice and heard every motion the characters were displaying through his voice along. I simply cannot get enough of Rusin and Eleanor as this story picks up where the previous story left off with Eleanor still feeling betrayed and hurt. However, her father is hurt, and she needs answers regarding about herself and the magic she has but danger seems to follow her everywhere and Albrecht isn't giving up so easily. As much as she doesn't want to think about Ruskin, and the pain that comes with thinking of him, he shows up when she needs him. He needs her help but helping him means opening up herself once again to getting hurt. There's so much more to them than they could have imagined but nothing is easy with them and their journey in this story is harder than ever, when trying to stay alive becomes an everyday occurrence. This story is full of secrets, tension, hurt, attacks, second chances, surprises, love, romance, fate, death, survival, betrayal, enemies, allies, knowledge and so much more. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in this series, especially with that cliffhanger ending regarding mother and son.

Absolutely fantastic! I was completely wrapped up in this book. Book 1 was great, but Book 2 was even better—I can’t wait to dive into Book 3! True names, true names, and all that! This story had it all: moments of sadness, bursts of joy, plenty of cheer-worthy scenes, and satisfying comeuppance. This book ends in a cliffhanger. The narration was great throughout. Five stars all around!

A Thrilling, Addictive Page-Turner
