About this listen

Terra stands upon the brink of Unity. The armies of the self-proclaimed Emperor of Mankind have waged their bloody wars to bring the whole planet under his rule, crushing all traces of outlawed religion and worship from the face of this now secular utopia.

But even the mighty Thunder Warriors cannot cow Uriah Olathaire, last priest of the Church of the Lightning Stone, as he goes about his empty, hollow rituals - and only one last and thoroughly unexpected visitor can bring any hope of a possible reconciliation.

This title was a great insight to the Emperor's purpose. The final unification of Terra before beginning the Great Crusade.

Great insight to the mind of the Emperor...

The best Warhammer short story I’ve read/heard so far. Takes you back to the beginning of it all. Highly recommended.

One of the best

I have nothing to say about the book insomuch as I have to say about my ability to play it. When I clicked to download my copy of the audio book, Audible shoves its garbage MP3 downloading software down my throat instead of just giving me an MP3, and what's worse is the piece of shovelware doesn't even work, I gave it all the necessary information to link it to my account & nothing. Good, now I'm forced to play it from my browser. At least when I buy music from Amazon they give me the option of a direct MP3 download when they're shoving their garbage media player your throat.

The book would've been certainly worth the money I paid for it if the service weren't broken & worthless.

Good book, awful interface.

This really made me stop and think. I came into warhammer for the goofy side of it such as orc but stayed due to it overall enjoyable lore. This book I thought was going to be about the last stand of the church, but it was far better than I expected. It was more philosophical and interesting than what I was expecting from a warhammer book in general.

A masterpiece

Big E is such a fantasticlly ironic character it hurts. The last church displays everything that Big E will inevitably see after the decent of his imperium

Oh the irony

not my personal favorite, but easily a very high quality 40k story. Keeble outdoes himself as per usual

outstanding

My first book in a long line of other books to come by Graham, amazing writing and something that both a religious and none religious person could listen to and come out not questioning their beliefs but definitely redefining or possibly understanding more of the opposite side. Honestly the best representation of the Emperor as a character.

VA’s work and the discord

Loved it and shows a real deep understanding i liked the characters of course and neither seems flawless. That makes the story believable..
