About this listen

Scarred by war, in pursuit of truth.

Army veteran True Brighton left the service when the development of robotic helicopters made her training as a pilot obsolete. Now she works at Requisite Operations, a private military company established by friend and former Special Ops soldier Lincoln Han. ReqOp has embraced the new technologies. Robotics, big data, and artificial intelligence are all tools used to augment the skills of veteran warfighters-for-hire. But the tragedy of war is still measured in human casualties, and when True makes a chance discovery during a rescue mission, old wounds are ripped open. She's left questioning what she knows of the past and resolves to pursue the truth, whatever the cost.

The Last Good Man is a powerful, complex, and very human tale.

Decent story

The reader tends to end phrases and sentences with a rising inflection; that bothers me.

Story is tight, reading is distracting

Started this after a recommendation on hackaday. The story is amazing and very well thought out. Always fun to have your mind tickled by this possible implications of currently technology being fully exploited. Very engaging read. The audio is not fun, lots of unnecessary intonation, almost every sentence ends with upwards inflection. I found this to be very distracting. The book is insanely good. Read it anyway.

Leaves you with something to think about

The Audible version of this book is well done. I found only one we error in the narration. The characters were developed slowly and believable.

A near future war novel that leaves the reader to ponder the future of warfare and mankind's ability to maintain peaae

Started off very good, ended weak

Well, the story started very well. good plot and character development. However, once the main plot "driver" was revealed, I really lost interest and struggled to finish the book. The plot "driver" just did not do justice to why certain events happened. One last note, for those listeners over 50 years of age, believe it or not, but this book reminds me a lot of the 1984 Tom Selleck movie "Runaway".
