About this listen

As lead singer of the band, Step Back Once, Sam Prichard was an up-and-coming country music star, his former careers as police officer and private investigator behind him. Recognized by one of the top talents in Nashville, it seemed the band might be on its way to a real recording career.

But then Candy McAlester, their bass player, was arrested and charged with the murder of her ex-husband, her own son being the star witness against her. In desperation, the band turned to Sam to find the proof that she was innocent, and he returned to PI work to try to clear her name. Only then could he admit to himself that he'd been missing it, that he'd been craving it and the thrills and excitement that it brought along.

The case took some surprising turns, and when the dust finally settled, Sam had learned one thing above everything else: being an investigator wasn't just something he had done, it was something that was part of him. No matter how things turned out on this case, Sam knew it wouldn't be his last.

Or would it?

Self published author who turns out superb...

...action thriller novels quickly. In my view this outstanding 5.3 hour audiobook is overpriced compared to most self published novels. It is the 12th novel in the Sam Prichard series and the Noah Wolf series (combined) that David Archer has released in the last 13 months. It's a safe bet that he had written several prior to releasing the first one since the first 5 were released immediately. Still, he is writing novels at the rate of one every two months which is unusual for thrillers (romance novels are often turned out at that rate).

Other independent authors/publishers of the action thriller and espionage thriller genres are also releasing superb novels which are reasonably priced at a rapid rate. They include Mark Dawson, Wayne Stinnett, Dawn Lee McKenna, etc. Mark Dawson for example has released 20 novels and novellas, all either 4 or 5 star, in 32 months. (The 20 Dawson novels and novellas are in 3 series: John Milton, Beatrix Rose, and Isabella Rose.)

Great but too short

Another awesome book in the Sam Prichard series! Still though not a fane of such a short audio book doesn’t even carry through a single work day :(

I feel like an audio book should give at least 8-10 hours if not 10-12 hours for the money we spend on these series!

Sometimes they put several short ones into a single purchase which is nice!

Besides the short length love it!

Very good

I am a big fan of David Archer's books.
I was afraid whenI finished all the Noah ones that I'd be
left with none but I am thoroughly enjoying the Sam Pritchard series.
