About this listen

Sometimes, the worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves. They build and build into a façade of transparency and false truth that we present to the world...until it comes crashing down because of that one person who sees right into you.

“Just one more time.”

“It’s not even like that.”

“I’m not tripping about it.”

“I’m fine. Really.”

Growth and forgiveness. Maturity and grace. Moving on and moving forward. All come into play when something that was supposed to be a one-time indulgence becomes something more - something almost destroyed by lies they never told each other.

I didn’t like the use of the N word. Not everyone of color uses the word. Story would have been just as real and good without it.

Tell a story with out the N word

CCJ hit it out the park again. Her writing is amazing. This story is about real life sh-ish. Single parenthood and all the problems that come with that added with a sprinkle of hotness and a lot of love. I’ve downloaded every book that CCJ has on audible and this one ranks in the top....I can’t give you the top 5 because this author is just that good and I love them all. At this point, I don’t even read the synopsis of the story; if CCJ is the author, I just download it. Oh and the narrators are excellent!!!!!

So Real

I really enjoyed this book, this hits real life especially about depression, people fear psychological diagnosis. I loved the way that Kyle loved on Brandy genuinely and as best as he could. He knew the signs and symptoms of depression and he didn’t run. He helped her to deal and cope. That’s true love. Christina C. Jones is my favorite author.

Loved everything about this spin off of the truth. Took me a minute to connect the relationships from The Truth but I’m glad we got that second story. I’m happy for Brandy and Kyle.

She topped the first one!

I liked that Kyle wasn’t afraid to help Brandi with her issue. I liked that her friends helped her to find a definition to her relationship with Kyle. Mental health in black people, these are things that we don’t talk enough about, depression, anxiety etc. I’m glad the author was able to place it in context of the story line. I can’t wait to hear Gia’s story, hint hint CCJ lol
