About this listen

My gravest mistake was falling in love with my husband.

It crept up on me so slowly that I didn't even notice it was happening until it arrived. I assumed he felt the same way every time he kissed me...every time he touched me.

Until he proved me wrong.

Kamikaze is dead, so I don't need him for protection anymore. Divorce is all I want now. I'll find a man that will love me the way I deserve, that won't bring home two strange women just to hurt me.

I don't need him.

Now it's time to start over.

Final redeemed the second

Ok I didn’t like the second part. The final part redeemed the second part. I was in tears when he finally confessed his love for her. What an excellent ending.

A COMPLEX, ALL-CONSUMING ROCKY RIDE

I love Penelope Sky stories and I couldn’t wait to start this trilogy once they were all out.. and WOW what a rollercoaster ride this was as a bitter arranged marriage very slowly turns into undying devoted love. Arwen’s father was dying and he’d also lost all his money to a psychopath criminal.. so, to keep his daughter safe from his enemy, he made a deal and married her off to Satan’s son. Because Maverick was a ruthless, cold, heartless, womanizing monstrous anti-hero from a crime family. .. a shameless wolf who made a promise to protect Arwen - a promise he never broke. However, he didn’t promise to be faithful, kind, thoughtful or nice!! And, right from the start, their marriage was anything but a conventional happy one with mega resistance and mutual dislike flowing from every encounter. But, through the tentative ups and toxic downs.. through the fiery passion and the endless pitfalls.. through the various lovers that came and went on both sides.. through the negative disruptions and the imminent dangers.. through the emotional push n pull to their unwanted marriage and through the sizzling chemistry.. there was fireworks, feisty flare ups, fan-worthy sexy times and feels feels feels.

This doesn’t unravel like the ‘usual’ arranged/forced marriage plot because, right from the start, these two characters REALLY didn’t like each other and weren’t going to compromise at all. But this talented author takes you on a unique twisted slow-building journey of attraction, character growth, awakening, understanding, forgiveness, redemption and love. The anti-hero was handsome, powerful, and sexy.. but initially very hard to like. The beautiful Opera singer heroine was strong yet vulnerable, courageous yet naive and unfortunately too trusting. The villains are dark and deadly, the passion and pleasures sparked and sizzled, the romance was touching and heartfelt, the heartbreak was brutal and the HEA was a joy to behold.

Worth a credit? Well, with this dual POV trilogy were really talking about three.. and yes, each and every one of the expertly narrated books (for me) was definitely creditworthy.

Love and redemption

I loved this series. I’m a huge Penelope Sky fan, but this story really resonated with me. Ms. Sky did a great job showing how a relationship can come back from the brink and two lost souls can find each other again. I loved it.

I love you Penelope Sky!!!!!!

What can I say.
These stories never disappoint! She has ruined me for all other authors!!!!

I love the narration as always it’s just perfection!!!
The thing I love most are the leading ladies in her novels!
These woman are so BAD ASS!!!!!!!!

They are all confident
Kick butt and take no shit and they are always beautiful on top of it!

I cannot stand a story about librarian types with no confidence and let men walk all over them.
Pearl Barsetti has been my favorite but I think she met her match here!!

Bravo can’t wait for the next stories!

Mostly great

The only problem I had with this book and many others in this same category is the double standard situation. Maverick seemed to sort of encourage Sabrina to feel welcome to come onto him. Then Arwen was described as jealous when she found them alone in close proximity to each other. I'm sure he would have been upset if he found her in a secluded situation with one of her past lovers. There IS such a thing as legitimate concern versus irrational jealousy. I don't understand why Sabrina was invited to the Christmas party. I'll bet Maverick wouldn't have allowed Brandon to be there. I feel that a person should show enough respect to their mates to stay away from questionable situations involving ex lovers. Arwen started seeing Brandon when she and Maverick were split up. Not at all the same as him bringing two girls home to engage in a three way knowing that Arwen would see him with them. Makes me mad just thinking about it.

Maverick has to pay for his sins!
Men are their own worst enemies .Never know what they have or need until they lose it.
Arwen, shows her pride and worth by standing her ground even though she still loves her husband.
Will they both lose this special love they found or can it be mended??
What part has Caspian played since all we see is anger and retaliation on his part?
Can Maverkic find purpose by being with one woman, and is he able to get that chance?
Who plays the big part in giving them another chance?
Heartbreak, determination, threats, Only time will tell..........
this was another amazing Trilogy written by Penelope Sky.
I read this story in 2020 and have reread and listen to it often. Can never get enough of this author's work. and the Narration is always excelent!!
