A wrong turn could lead to Mr. Right....

Sam Cooper is the definition of an introvert: shy, bookish, and the sort to think a wild Friday night involves ordering takeout. He enjoys his quiet life, but after a bad breakup, he’s been yearning for a change of scenery. Luckily, his best friend and former college roommate has the solution.

Wesley Reed—a jokester and expert Sam-handler—proposes an epic road trip to a wedding across the country. They’re both between jobs and boyfriends. Why not hit the open road and make some memories? Stuck in close quarters for the first time since their dorm days, they’re both surprised at the heat that springs up between them. As best friends, they’ve shared so much over the years, so why does sharing a hotel room—and occasionally a bed—make them want more?

Chemistry this smoldering is hard to ignore, but there are road blocks to their romance. Wesley’s keeping a secret, and Sam can’t rely on Wesley to drag him out of his comfort zone forever. If they’re not careful, their relationship may take the ultimate wrong turn.

Great road trip story

This was a fun road trip story that took a serious turn. Sam and Wesley are driving through the country on their way to Sam's sister's wedding. Along the way these two besties discover some things about each other becoming closer than they ever imagined. But Wesley has a huge secret that could end their new relationship before it can really start. This story was filled with humor, heat, and some really emotional moments. I was happy with how everything worked out in the end. Kevin Earlywine did a wonderful job with the narration. The voices were distinct and you could really feel the emotions throughout the story.

Great Story & Narration🎧Captivating & Emotional!

This is a wonderful friends-to-lovers romance novel, the story drew me right in and held my attention the entire time. It is my first book written by Quinn Anderson and I enjoyed her writing style and the story she created. Her characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they were easy to care about and root for, too. Sam Cooper recently broke up with his fiancé, calling off the wedding, causing a financial loss for his parents. His sister is getting married and wants him to come to the wedding, but he is dreading to see his parents again. His best friend, Wesley Reed, who is also in-between jobs, invites himself to the wedding and suggests they make it an adventure, a cross country road trip. I adored these two together and for each other, except Wesley was holding a piece of himself back, which eventually gets revealed. Wesley’s feeling for Sam grew into something beyond friendship. Sam was not sure if he wanted to jeopardize their friendship, plus he just came out of a serious relationship. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and they could only deny each other for so long. The beautifully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance, it is low angst and high on charm. Quinn Anderson, thank you for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Anderson cast the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Kevin Earlywine did an amazing job portraying these characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures all the character’s emotions and has you feeling them all. Earlywine is an entertaining storyteller and a talented voice artist. His performance adds another dimension to the story, making it even more enjoyable. Thank you for another wonderful listen.

Not a ‘69 Rambler but still good

When his sister is about to get married, introverted Sam is afraid to attend the wedding. He’s estranged from his family. His best friend, who is always the life of the party, talks him into going on a road trip, in a classic car, to get to the wedding. On the way, they discover important things about each other.

I purchased this book for the narrator and the car. I liked the narrator but think he needs more experience. He will, one day, be epically good.

The car on the cover is NOT the ‘69 Rambler as described in the book. My husband restores classic American cars as a hobby and he said this is closest to a ‘59, but the bumper and trim and front end are wrong. He said the car on the cover is either an artist’s rendition or AI generated.

Cute road trip romance

I enjoyed a lot about this book, the friends to lover and road trip elements primarily. I bumped it up to a 4 for narration. Kevin Earlywine did a great job bringing it to life. It had a bit more angst than I’m used to and I’m not sure all the story beats really landed for me, but overall I enjoyed the characters and their cross country adventure and them reaching their HEA.

Loved this book

This was my first ever book by this author and I absolutely loved it. I am going to need to find more books by them as well. I also thought the narrator, Kevin Earlywine, did an amazing job narrating this book. This book also had me in tears in places as well.
