Publisher's summary

Walt Longmire faces one of his most challenging crime scenes as he tries to reckon with the revelations of his last case where he confronted the ghosts of his past and questioned the very nature of justice and mercy in the hard country of the West.

Deep in the heart of the Wyoming countryside, Sheriff of Absaroka County Walt Longmire is called to a crime scene like few others that he has seen. This crime brings up issues that go back to Walt’s grandfather’s time in Wyoming, as the revelations he learns about his grandfather come back to offer clues and motives for Walt’s investigation. Filled with back-country action, and with the great cast of characters that listeners have come to love with the Longmire series, this new book will be sure to satisfy both long-time listeners and those new to the series.

A good story

Less Indian folklore and more intrepid investigator, the Longmire Defense is a good story that will keep you coming back for more.

Different kind of Longmire story

Not your typical Longmire novel but definitely a good one. Maybe the best one yet. Lots of twists to keep things interesting. Definitely worth the listen.

Another great Longmire story

I’ve read/listened to all the Longmire books. They were all great. Lots of action; lots of great characters; what more could you want.

One of Walt's Best

I'm a sucker for happy endings and I love George Guidall.
Wakt's escapades are not too strenuous this book so they are more believable. The government illegal activities fit right in for the present time.
Fun book. Easy to listen to.

Solid return to the quality longmire

This book reminded me of some of the earlier ones. It was a good story with good characters in a good mystery.

Better than the last one

I love the Walt Longmire series, but I did not like the last one. The Longmire Defense brings us back the kind of storyline I like.

The ending- loved it.

While George Guidall did an excellent job with some of the earlier books, his speech has become slurred at times. I guess, I just need to pick up the books and read them myself.

Really Enjoyed!

Every fall I look forward to a new Longmire story, and this was worth waiting for. Totally enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one! And the audible just wouldn’t be “Longmire” if George Guidall didn’t narrate it. (One Longmire book had a different narrator, and it was hard to get used to!).

Wow

Craig Johnson does it again. George Guidall’s narration is excellent. Walt Longmire never let’s go.
