One of Book Riot's "9 Not-To-Be-Missed Romances Hitting the Shelves this Summer"

Can a woman who’s down on her luck find love with a dashing Duke-to-be? Find out in The Luck of the Bride, the next Regency romance in the Cavensham Heiresses series from Janna MacGregor.

She's leaving nothing up to chance. Not even love…

March Lawson is an orphan who, for the past eight years, has struggled to raise her siblings on a meager allowance. Most women March's age would be picking out ball gowns for the upcoming season. But March's focus is not on finding a husband. First, she must devote her energies to just one man: the coldhearted skinflint who refuses to release her inheritance.

Michael Cavensham, the Marquess of McCalpin, is not a heartless man. When he learns that Miss Lawson has been forging his name to procure funds, he can't bring himself to have her arrested - not when the bold-faced embezzler is so enchantingly beautiful. Instead, McCalpin agrees to visit her home to assess the situation more closely. March has no choice but to accept. But how can she manage the handsome trustee who controls her purse strings - when he tugs at her heart strings as well?

GREAT NARRATION

The Luck of the Bride is a well crafted story. It was a page turner. I wanted to know how these beautifully written characters would survive and overcome horrendous circumstances. I feel in love with March Lawson daughter of a Viscount and her sisters and brothers Julia, Faith and Bennett. I really enjoyed reading about the 8 year old Viscount Bennett Lawson. At the age of 16 March parents died of influenza. They left 16 year old March alone to raise her 9 and 8 year sisters Faith and Julia and the baby brother Bennett 1 month old. These young children despite being Very Rich had to live the life of paupers. They had to overcome neglectful Guardians who refuse to dispense there trust funds money so they might live. This was so sad. But they learned to survive and overcome there circumstances.

When the Guardian Dies 8 years later there whole life changes and thank goodness it was for the Better!!

Michael Cavensham The Marquess of McCalpin is heir to his fatherthe Duke of Langham. Michael is the Marquess has numerous estate properties and he is very rich. But he has a secret and his brother William is there to cover for him. The brothers are very close and this was a nice feature of the storyline. They protected each other and they loved each other. The whole Cavensham family were very loving, generous and compassion people to be from such a Powerful Rich Duchecy!

Michael is now the new Guardian of the Lawson Siblings Fortune which is substancial. He meets March when he finds out she has been embezzling funds from her trust money by forging his name. The two have sparks flying immedialty. March tries to explane to Michael that her family are living in proverty and have nothing. Michael decides he better check this out. What he finds while visiting them is shocking on how the Lawson's have managed to survive. He immediatly sends a wagon of supplies, food and repairmen to them. To aid them while arranges for them to come to London and stay with his parents The Duke and Duchess of Langham. This begins the romance between March and Micheal and they both get there needed HEA. I loved these two together. They are the perfect couple.

The only problem I had with this story was I think the Cousin Rupert Lawson and the Accoutant Jameson should have been put in Jail!! What they did to the Lawson siblings was illigel and just plain mean and crule!! I am also, just tired of the Aged Spinister Herione. I would have liked it much better it March had been 20 instead of 25. I am just tired of the Spinister characters.

But I still Highly Recommend The LUck of the Bride!! A definite Re Read for Me!! Very Well Written Story!!

Lucky Bride

This was a wonderful romance. I just loved this one and this series!! March Lawson had been taking care of her younger siblings since the death of their parents! But with no guardians helping and tried to get month from her trust by forging the signature of the Marquess Of McCalpin, Michael Cacensham! They find themselves drawn to each other. The youngest brother Bennett is just a joy. Just great.

Absolutely Delightful

Absolutely spectacular! I've got welling tears of happiness rimming my lashes at the beautiful conclusion of this unputdownable book. My heart is warm and contented.

From the very first page, I was drawn in and never wanted to reach the end. How I adored March and her siblings! I had this intense need to wrap them up in a warm blanket and settle them down with tea and sweets. How tragic a past they've endured.

And the hero was phenomenal! I love a man who believes he's flawed and utterly hopeless because they always make the swoonest choices. And Michael was just delicious! He might have muddled his way just a bit through the conflict, but his heart was always in the right. He only wanted his lady love by his side but needed the aid of his family to guide him to the ultimate love story. Huzzah!

what did I pay for?

I couldn't even like the story for the subpar narration. I guess it was ruined from the first two books narration. I like it better when they use actor voices instead of the narrator trying to do them.....this one is awful.

My savior

A wonderful book but the Narrator was horrible. March Lawson has know heartache for the past 8 years. After the death of her parents at 16 she has been the caregiver of her siblings. There has been hard times and hunger. Those responsible for for watching over her and her family have failed them over the years. With needing food and repairs to the house she was desperate. She forged the Marquis or McCalpins signature to gain access to her dowary.
When McCalpin finds out someone forged his name he not only finds a woman desperate but possibly someone who can steal his heart.

Good story but the narration is poor.

The story line is good.
Mysteries woven into the story line.
Female characters not historically accurately.

Good book but bad annoying narrator.

The book is good . But the narrator ruined it . The voice was so annoying and everyone sound like a witch talking. Sounds like an old witch screeching.. I just let it go on without listening anymore. I just wish it was Rosalyn Leandro did the narrative.

Great story

Love the characters. Loved the return of old characters. A little drawn out. I only wish Rosalind Landor was the narrator. She is the best.

Loved, loved, loved.

I loved this book. Someone will probably argue it was accurate for the time period. I loved the book. It was different. Sugary sweet at times mixed in with poverty and bad luck. Ending with a HEA!
