About this listen

It started as as a simple search for a landscape designer.

I wanted a beautiful backyard for my new home, and my neighbors suggested I look into ward landscaping and design. The owner had no pictures of himself on his website. Just a portfolio of nice outdoor sitting areas, pools, and vibrant gardens that I’d always dreamed of having.

Of course, I hired him. I expected to meet an average guy, but Mr. Marcel Ward is far from your average man. He’s handsome, well-built, and his smile - though a rare trait - is truly infectious. He’s every woman’s dream - a handsome, older man who doesn’t mind getting down and dirty to create something beautiful all because of his passion for it.

Unfortunately, that lucky woman can’t be me. Although Mr. Ward tests my limits, quickens my breath, and makes my heart skip a beat when he’s around, I’ve made a promise to devote myself to my husband.

So, why am I falling for a man I know I can’t have?

Good story but the female narrator just okay

I really enjoyed this story. I think it’s well done and keeps you engaged and rooting for the FMC. The female narrator isn’t very good at inflection however. It often sounds like she’s asking a question in the middle of a sentence which is a little off-putting.

Great Listen

This is a well written book. While the plot is a little taboo these things happen in life. Gabby felt a great responsibility to her family so she did what she thought she had to do. Once she met Marcel she questioned her choices. Just a good story with great narration.

Wasn't expecting the ending

I'm such a fan girl of this author. lol This book is so good. The male narrator is everything! I love his voice and accent. This author always has me so wrapped up in the drama in her books! I literally sit on the edge of my seat with all her books. Highly recommend this book.

Great

Well written book of an emotionally complex subject matter. Scott Rider is ❤️. Lacy Laurel’s Gabby voice is great. Her male voices and strange “accent?” for Kyle is awful. Worth tolerating though for the story...

Typical Plot Twist

It was exciting and had many great moments, but I felt like the story was very typical. Overall, a good story though!

TERRIBLE FEMALE NARRATOR SUCKS

The female narrator SUCKS, she's ATROCIOUS!! HORRIBLE at male voices!! What in the world did she make Kyle sound like that?? That accent was CRINGE-WORTHY!!! Also her Columbian accent was TORTURE!!... This story was a good idea, but was not well thought out. All of the internal monologues, and the back and forth between the two main characters was UNNECESSARY!! The FMC was so weak, and THE MMC was too tortured... this book is a DNF for me.
