Publisher's summary

How do the weak vanquish the powerful?

America has been crippled by a false flag, cyber-attack event and martial law has been implemented across the nation. A president, desperate to hold onto power, works in conjunction with the United Nations and uses the collapse event as a way to abolish the constitutional rights of Americans.

From six-time Amazon best-selling author Bobby Akart, The Mechanics continues The Boston Brahmin series into a post-apocalyptic world to show how the government uses a crisis to take away the freedoms of its citizens, and how Americans fight back to restore their Republic.

It will take a committed group of patriots armed with strong survival skills and a desire for freedom to save the nation from tyranny. The Mechanics are the insurgent arm of The Loyal Nine and are well equipped to take on a stronger enemy in this post-apocalyptic world.

A series that you wish would never end!

If you could sum up The Mechanics in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining, explosive, unpredictable

What did you like best about this story?

The continued development of Sarge as Morgan's successor

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, every time one of the characters gets killed I tear up. It seems that everyone that has died in this series caught me off guard...especially Steven and Drew! I didn't see either one of those coming!!

Still going strong

The Boston Brahmin series holds strong in this fifth book of the series. The characters are faced with hard decisions, while different factions are causing problems for the Loyal Nine and Sarge’s group. I have become emotionally invested in the characters though Bobby’s excellent writing. I love watching Sarge grow into a leader, but the tensions that rise between him and Steven hurt my heart. This situation is an example of how much people can influence another’s thoughts and actions. Joseph Morton helps pull me into the story even more through his narration. He does a great job with his pace, intonation and dialect. I highly recommend this series and this Audible book.

Humanity can and will break down, thus disappoint themselves and all that we would call good and right.

Fantastic writing. History will repeat itself, no matter what. Society will crumble and blood will flow. I choose freedom!
And damn I need a box of tissues...this is ALL so very real.

Outstanding!!

The story so parallels what is happening in the U.S. today. WOW. There were times when it seemed that I could not separate this storyline from what is currently taking place in our government. I can so see this being a reality for us. I look for to CHOOSE FREEDOM.

Try Zero Hour

What did you love best about The Mechanics?

The story line is very compelling. And I'm certain that Bobby Akart is one of the most versatile and knowledgeable writers in prepper fiction.

Any additional comments?

This series has been one of my favorites, but the language is finally wearing me down. I can ignore a lot of foul language in exchange for a good story, but each books seems to get progressively worse. Amazingly the same author writes an equally exciting reasonably clean-cut book called Zero Hour. It is awesome and I'm looking forward to getting into that series. Bobby, if you are listening, don't mess it up with gratuitous language.
